Have you gone through post 8?
Assuming general web browsing works, it's either software setup (pop/smtp server, or firewall) etc, or Virgin, you need to narrow it down to proceed. If it works on the other pc, it's more likely to be the former

Are you using MS Mail to connect to your mail client and download your emails to your PC? If you are then you need to set up MS Mail with the relevant details for the server you are connecting to.
Am I right in thinking this?0 -
Looking at the www.saynoto0870.com website there are a load of numbers for Dell, but this one may be useful for technical support - 01344 373727. I've used it before and it gets you through.
By the way when setting up the email account in windows mail make sure that you tick the box to keep mail on the server, as that could be why you can't see mail on webmail.

Thought I'd try Dell again, this time asking them to call me back, and surprise surprise it worked. Which was just as well because this time we were on the phone for 2 hours! However, he appears to have sorted it. Something about ticking the box for leaving a copy of messages on the server. Emails come in twice on my PC (!) and once on my laptop, but hey it's better than not at all so I'm not touching it!
Thanks for everyone's kind suggestions, it's so nice to know that there are so many people willing to give up their time to help out.

Really you know, Dell just supply the hardware, if anything your problem was more to do with Virgin Media and Microsoft (Outlook?). I'm quite surprised that Dell didn't tell you this.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
