I'm off to Hong Kong next week and want to buy some currency in the next few days (probably from http://www.thomasexchange.co.uk, anyone used them?)
I could keep it simple and get 100% cash in HK$, or get a mixture of cash and TC.
I had a google and people were saying it's cheaper to use a bank card and ATMs than TCs. Is this true?
Thomas Exchange charge £400 for £400 Sterling TCs and apparently there are several places in HK that will cash TC for free.
So what's the deal?
Thanks

It would be safer to take TC's rather than all cash in case it is lost or stolen as TC's can be easily replaced.
You will also be likely to get a better rate in HK than here, but that depends on how the rate fluctuates by the time you get there.0 -
use the http://travelmoney.moneysavingexpert.com/ to find the best place to get currency and dont get it all in currency if its stolen then you have lost it. Havent been to HK but when we go away we take a credit card like the post office its the best one ignore abbey they are terrible and we take some cash. Using the credit card we get the bank rate,0
