How do you delete a poll?

I started a poll on a thread and it closed at the requested time.

The poll is now no longer relevant, it being about a forthcoming date/event that has now passed

But its still on there!

Why does it have to be deleted? You may have started it, but a lot of people have contributed to it and may still want to read the posts.

It was about a meeting, if they would attend or not?

The meeting was on the 2nd June

If so, I really don't see why it needs deleting. We have discussions on MSE about things that happened twelve months ago, but the threads still remain. It is called history!
