    I only posted it as the very high interest rate of Provident Loans was mentioned on this thread.

    Frankly, I don't give a hoot.

    The thing is, that many people don't clear their statement balance every month.

    Clearly, it works for you.

    I started many years ago with MBNA and a tiny credit limit. At least their rates aren't/weren't as ludicrous as Vanquis.

    When I got my Student Barclaycard (signed up to get a free inflatable chair :rotfl: ) my starting interest rate was something silly like 26%

    It's all about risk, although I do think some interest rates are going waaaay OTT (like those loans that boast the rates of 117%)

    I cant remeber the company...but just before christmas I recieved one for 56.9% (typical) FLAT RATE Card!!!!!!

    Unfortunately MBNA do not entertain applications from any 'sub prime' applicants. Therefore their risk is not as high, and neither their interest rates.
