There's nothing there and it has no soul.
Comberton - I spent quite a lot of time there ... and even 25 years ago there was a lot of bad council housing that by now is probably populated with people one wouldn't wish to live near. Spent a few nights in a few thatched cottages in that village too ... sounds nice, but these were damp, unheated, uninsulated cheap rental hellholes to be honest. Probably been bought up by rich people now though and poshed up.0 -

I had to google Cambridge rapist as I hadn't ever heard of him myself (I grew up far from Cambridgeshire and was only in my teens when he was caught). I assume from your post he lived in Hardwick
I know people who live in Hardwick now and it seems quite a nice place... not particularly pretty or full of character but very pleasant with a thriving shop, hairdressers, vets, florists etc and a very good bus service into the city.. Comberton must have changed a lot since you lived here PN as it is now seen as quite desirable (certainly not rough) mainly because Comberton Village College has one of the best reputations for state secondary schools in Cambridgeshire. If you look at properties advertised in Hardwick, Coton, Caldecote, Comberton etc they very often say 'Comberton VC catchment' and command a higher price because of this.“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”
