How many computers? Networked? Printers? Server?
What software? Just word processing? Spreadsheets?
... and so on...0 -
You also need more information about what it is you want, and what you're going to do with them!

Sorry.. Need laptops for the workers who are out visiting the clients
PC for the staff on site
Microsoft office for everyone
Also wanted computers for the clients to use for education / employment reasons0 -
That looks like it will cost you several thousand pounds - hope you've got some good funding!
To get very cheap Microsoft software for a charity, look at the Charity Technology Exchange - Microsoft donate software, and CTX charges a small admin fee to give it out. There are a whole lot of hoops to go through, and lots of limitations with regard to how often you can buy stuff... But it's (nearly) free (Office Pro for £13, for example).
PS Intrigued how you 'suddenly discovered' they needed computers and software!0 -
You could try Freecycle:

It's not that we suddenly need computers it's just moving into the 21st century!!!0

Computers will always cost money, but you could conceivably get all your software for free...0

Get a few cheap pc's, Load them with Open Office, Free AVG and away you go0

I'm sure you can find some cheap or even free computers if you check Craigslist or Freecycle.
Then just put the free operating system Ubuntu on them, install OpenOffice, and you're all set.0 -
