My neighbour, who is secretary for a local charity, simply sent an email to microsoft uk asking for a copy of MS Office 'at their best price'.
They replied that they would supply it free and "how many copies did they need?"
Find a email address and write a cheeky email.

Thank you for your observation.
All I am doing is providing the OP with another option.
I'll leave it to the OP to decide his best course of action.0 -

You're right, it is. I don't recall it being part of it before, but I guess they changed it, or my memory is failing me.0 -
You could try calling some local schools/colleges. Many upgrade their IT systems regularly and may have some servicable desktop units knocking around. Laptops will not be so easy to come by.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

A friend runs a charity business which recycles old PC's and either sells them on cheaply to businesses/ the public or donates them to schools and charities, loaded with an easy to use Linux OS. Not sure exactly how they are funded, but I believe that they only operate in one specific area as they get government grants etc to help them. Theres probably one near you. If your looking for things like flat screen monitors or xp/vista capable laptops with decent batteries though, you'll be extremely lucky to find them from these sources.0

If you have a registered charity number then you can often get money off.0
