Central Locking problems

you can also set the doors to lock as you drive off too.
Also, with Ford keys, you only get about 11 seconds to replace the battery once you take the old one out.
Have you got a multimeter to test the voltage of the old battery against the new one?
All sounds like something that can be fixed i na few minutes.
Ignition on, hold the lock button down on the key until you either hear a beep or the hazzard lights flash twice. This is the setting to change the central locking from unlocking the drivers door only, to unlocking the whole car.
Hi Harveybobbles,
Ill give that a try too - but the remote ket fob is not locking/unlocking any of the doors at the moment!

Is your dashboard behaving? Lights, dials etc.
Hi LeeSouthEast,
I have been thinking about your post and there is a bit of a problem with the trip meter on the left. When I try to reset milage, speed etc... it is very tempermental and will only work on the odd occasion.
Apart from that all other things work fine!

That's typical of most mondeo's.
If your key isn't working at all then it just needs to be re programmed to the car using the method mentioned above.0 -
Hi all,
I have found this - http://fordwiki.co.uk/index.php/GEM_Module_Self_Diagnostics and I cannot get the GEM Module into self test.
I personally think that the GEM Module has decided to pack up!

Try resetting the keys? As this is cheaper than a new GEM lol...0

I have tried resetting the key - but still no joy!
I have tried the ways listed here as well as the one in the owners manual.
