When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Good morning people:hello:
Hope you all had lovely weekends....I could do with another day at home though;)
Seems dry here for now - I want all the sun back:cool:

Anyway...here's my list for today:
  • check online banking - ex's money gone in, some moved to spending account, some to girls' clubs account
  • daily scratchcard
  • packed lunches to work
  • charge mobile at work (and don't forget to bring it home after:o)
  • list more items on ebay
  • wrap up game sold on Amazon - I'd forgotten it was listed...!
  • meal from store - chicken out of freezer
  • make HM bread for dinner
Ok, that's all for now....have a lovely Monday:T

Hi - Boomtown Rats day today. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

    Anyhow, have transferred a silly amount of money from my ISA to my RBoS credit card (£1,575) which came from my bonus at work which has nearly cleared the card. I made a smaller payment earlier in the month and there should only be about £6 or £7 left to clear the card. I didn't want to overpay so will make a small payment by BACS once I call them up to find out exactly and then close that card;

    Also, my Egg card is paid off on 16th of this month and I can't wait to see the back of it! It was £2,200 this time last year, so delighted to see it almost gone;

Bought some guitar strings off ebay today and saved some cash in doing so.

    Not much else going on!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

    Good morning!!

Hmmmmm. Had a bit of a "down" mood this weekend. Struggling to shake myself out of it - dreary Monday morning isnt helping!

Ah well. Onwards and upwards, as they say.

    Today:

    - Check online banking
    - Clicks & scratchies
    - Washing on airer (not trusting that weather)
    - Packed lunches all made
    - Chicken casserole in slow cooker
    - Got to pay DDs Brownies subs and trip money - but that is tucked away on the shelf ready, so other than that, a NSD
    - Try & shake off this mood!

Have a good day everyone xxx

Morning Milly and all who come later :j.

I could do with another day off as well, but feel lucky to have had such a nice relaxing weekend.

    Today I have / will:

    Check online banking

    See to animals and plants

Take packed lunch to work and leave instructions for OH to finish preparing evening meal as I will be late home from work again (he only has to put some salad bits together and bung some potatoes in the oven to bake, to go with the smoked mackerel quiche I made yesterday).

Try not to spend anything and to stick to diet as I somehow managed to lose 2 lbs last week :T. Trouble is, with working such long hours at the moment and consequently irregular meals it is quite difficult not to succumb to a muffin or something by about 6pm as lunch seems such a long way off and supper a long way ahead - perhaps I should take an extra sandwich

Be more positive about work - each day is closer to finishing, and certain jobs, once done, I will not have to do again :j

Well, no point in having a long list as I won't get any more done, so that is my aims for today.

Have a nice day everyone :hello:

    Morning everyone :hello:

I seem to have done nothing but work recently, which hasn't helped the debt free path as I keep picking up lunch from the local sandwich bar instead of making it myself :o But I've got the ingredients for lunch for the week and today have a homemade Greek salad with me!

    Today's list goes as follows:

    • check online banking
    • adjust spreadsheet and set up new table for overpayments to the Natwest card, the MBNA card is cleared!!
    • adjust signature to reflect card change
    • bought breakfast and lunch to work
    • charge phone
    • store cupboard dinner

    Morning!

It's monday and im having a late day  and i have got lots and lots to do this week!! Why is it always like that?? I think DS must have a virus or something as he seems to be feeling the same!

Anyway...my busy week is partly my fault as I didnt do a lot this weekend. So I have only got myself to blame :rotfl:

    Plan for today is -

    1/online banking - done
    2/scratchies - done
    3/play with DS
4/cleaning! Why oh why didnt I wash up last night??
    5/work hours

that's probably pushing it for today. My cleaning list may take a while

Hope everyone is having a good day!!
