TBH when I was younger I took real advantage of this attitude. My then physical appearance helped confirm the stereotype, and I didn't tend to disillusion them: til it became advantageous to.

Sorry, I said I wouldn't post but this attracted me. I certainly hope that isn't the sole reason you're doing the phd

I don't often use Dr unless someone annoys me. Mostly everyone I know and almost everyone I work with is one anyways, it's a bit naff when you have to explain to someone else you're a doctor of science and no, you can't fix their chesty cough or their strange eye cyst

We're irresistable, right? DH books things in his first name usually. As do my father and f-i-l. Of course, thats manily tables in restaurants. :rolleyes:. I book the viewings for properties. Were looking at a few farms/land. people assume DH is the farmer, but hardly surprising: not that many farmers wear mascara. I really don't get offended by that.

Yeah right............do people really have that much time on their hands? I am getting close to starting to look at properties with a view to buy but, not quite there yet.

Many people round me have suggested starting viewing now - that just aint my bag though baby Why look now if i am not ready to buy?

My mother in law and her friends used to enjoy attending neighbouring open houses at the height of the boom. It was like a fun expedition for them and then they could go for coffee and gossip about the decor, while congratulating themselves on their millionaire status.:rolleyes:
