Fruit smooshed up with a fromage frais is popular (as it tastes sweet) with some milk added to his liking and call it a milk shake. You can freeze it (without the milk) and call it ice cream too, just give it a stir about and freeze till just frozen, don't leave it in the freezer.

Fruit smoothies poured into ice lolly moulds?

If he is eating a wide choice of veg (and different colours) he is doing well.

I was going to mention about the whole apple thing, My little one is fairly good at eating her veg but she is still quite young, so I'm sure she will go through a phase when she hit's the terrible 2's! The one thing she is a bit fussy with is apple, but if you give her a whole apple she will eat almost the whole thing, same when she went off banana for a little while, she managed to get one out of my bag and managed to work her way into the skin and ate the whole thing! Kids are funny little things aren't they! :) Sounds like he is doing great with his veg, I wouldn't worry too much if he doesn't really like fruit as long as he is eating some. A friend of mine doesn't like fruit but loves veg, and the dietician told her that you can get most things from veg anyway so not to worry too much, apparently is best to try to eat something green, and something orange everyday- fruit or vegetable!
    HTH.

Yeah when DD first started weaning I read on the box of tomatoes I was cutting for dinner 1 portion = 5 tomatoes (cherry) I was thinking, that would be all she could eat in a day how do you get 5 portions in a day, then I remembered the size of their fist! Doh!! Glad I remembered and didn't go and ask my HV! I would of felt silly thats for sure! :)

My son was the same - he is 26 now and over 6 feet tall. Anyway the advice I was given by the Health Visitor was to offer him food and not to make a fuss or any comment over whether he ate it or not. BUT in the meanwhile to give him vitamin drops and milk to drink. The advice saved my sanity because I used to be in tears and I was sure he was going to get scurvy or rickets or something else you get from not eating properly.

if he will eat spag bol/ lasagne, make your own pasta sauce, add grated veg and simmer until tender, you can all sorts like this, mushrooms, onions, carrots courgettes etc, add a teeny bit of sugar to sweeten a little and he will be getting plenty of fibre etc this way.

why not make your own ice lollies out of a smoothie pack you can get them in most supermarkets in the freezer section, blitz, mix with yoghurt, and freeze.

Whoo hoo! Thanks for that. That we can manage.
I try, through sheer laziness to not make a big issue out of my toddler's eating habits, which vary from none thank you, to I'm starving what else are we having! My mum on the other hand panics and gets really wound up - how can you put him to bed without forcing food down him, she'll say. She gets into fights with him when he refuses any morsels. But on his hungry days she panics he's going to make himself sick!
I am much more relaxed and I hope I'm not doing him too much harm :rolleyes:

As someone who is currently going through therapy to get over the problems I had with parents and food as a child, I would say Agutka you are doing the right thing! I actually have a phobia of trying foods I don;t know, I can't eat something that I haven't tried before, if it looks or smells different or is a different brand than I am used to issues arise!

I would encourage them to understand what healthy choices are, and why we need a wide variety of foods to be healthy, encourage them to try new but don't worry if they don;t, attempting to be forceful for their "own good" can leave an awful legacy, believe me!

After doing a little 'I'm doing the right thing' dance :rotfl:(how often do mothers hear that??) I must say wow, what a legacy to be left with. I hope your therapy goes well.

My son is 5 and would still choose a fruit pouch (in the kiddie food section, blended apple/mango/pear etc 4 pouches in a box for about £1.80) or fruit bar over a fresh fruit. .

DS loves the fruit pouches too. They're really portable :D
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.
