He has now told me to break speed limit as he wants me to drive LGV flat out?In his eyes,so I get back sooner and save him paying overtime? Now because he is bullying another lad that I work with,I have been recording my boss when hes telling me to break the law. I have caught him loud and clear on tape. So what do I do now!! Is it 2 months or 7 months you've been with the firm? In an earlier thread you posted:
bullying boss
Join the union is no option? As my mates got over 2 years service! But ive only 7months service? Manager can get rid of me for no reason? What do you do?
Why don't you tell your boss that you're not prepared to drive above the speed limit, to drive unsafely and to risk a speeding fine and points on your licence.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the 'I wanna' and 'In my home' and Health & Beauty'' boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Is it a large company you work for eg a national firm so you could go to his boss or even higher eg the main guy of the firm0

If he's taking it out non-consensually on another lad why not offer your boss your gimp for the week-end and see if that relieves tensions?0

..can I have a translation of the word "gimp"? - or shouldnt I ask - as its before the 9pm watershed?
Some clarification on whether service is 2 months or 7 months would be good - but in actual fact (as has already been pointed out) YOU would be the one in trouble with "the law" if you were caught speeding - not to mention the fact that any accidents you were involved in would be likely to be more "severe" in their consequences (whats that radio advert with a child saying words to the effect of "If you hit me whilst you are driving at x speed you kill me - if you hit me whilst you are driving at half x speed I get a more minor injury instead......") - to be borne in mind.....
Thinking about accidents - because I live in an area with WAY too much traffic on the roads I have got it worked out to a very fine art just how long it takes a car or van heading towards me as I cross the road to get to that point in the road - and guess whose fault I would be making sure to tell everyone it was if that vehicle coming towards me crashed into me after all, as my calculation had been wrong. Correct - the reason my calculation would have been wrong is because that vehicle would have been driving too fast in that particular road and had covered the distance faster than it legally could do. I bet I'm far from the only person who does this - so it could be an adult crossing the road in a residential area that you crashed into as well if you were driving too fast.
....goes off thinking "hope its not my area hes being urged to drive too fast through...or he'd soon find out how much trouble he can get in if he crashed into me through driving too fast....."..0 -

Stop being so underhanded and just tell him you aren't doing it! Alternatively just don't do it and if he ever moans or questions just say " Traffic was bad", "Few Police cars about - must have been some trouble somewhere..." etc. ie, Nod, smile, then just carry on - i'm betting he's not going to sit about working out your average speed on a daily basis. Honestly.
Also, it is my understanding that recordings done in this manner cannot be used as evidence anyway, and you shouldn't be recording him without his consent."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." ????
Wrong....you can't just assume that you are protected because you are in the right - you should preempt everyone else's being in the wrong and read the world around you - not precalculate your every move and hope nobody in the world is making a mistake.
What a bizarre way of doing things.
[How would you tell everyone else that you had pre-calculated the speed distance relationship on that particular road and that is the reason that you walked out in front of that car....to prove them wrong....from a body bag?]0 -
Go to union if you have one, or just tell him outright no and see what he does. Unfair dismissal claimThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Tell him you will not drive in a dangerous or illegal manner. If he wishes you to do so then you want it in writing. Then report the idiot to the HSE. If he won't put it in writing then refuse to do so. Driving is a risky activity and the last thing we need on the roads are more drivers being put under pressure to complete stupid amounts of journeys.
I'd also suggest that he pays for all drivers to have advanced driving courses as this will help drivers save time through better hazard awareness and suchlike as you can often be quicker slowing down and timing approaches than tanking up to every roundabout at full pelt. It could also lower the insurance premiums he has to pay so could prove quite a beneficial thing. I'd pitch this idea to him first as a chance for him to be sensible. It should also reduce accidents and fuel consumption which would also save the company money.0 -
How exactly will he know if you don't do it?
Tbh if your route is too much you need to dispute this, otherwise complete it on time.0
