One word of warning for you all. If you win a competition you should never have to pay for anything to get the prize ie. admin fee etc.....

Thank you for this , had a phone call the other day and they told me i had won a holiday for 4 all i have to pay is 29.50 per person booking fee, and come to a meeting . i asked if they could send me details through so i could read them over.
i have got the letter an it explains abit more ( timeshare - after i looked it up on their website)
it does state i,m i dont need to join or purchase anything to get my reward , i'm still not sure what to do , its says if i go to this meeting i will also get 50pounds high street vouchers, what would you do

I'd give it a miss as they normally do a hard sell at these meetings and try every which way they can to part you from your money or cheque.

I got the exact same phone call followed by the letter today straight into the bin. They will hound you until you sign the dotted line.....:mad:

Just got an email saying

We are happy to inform you that you have emerged a winner under the Second
Category of our promotion. Winners were picked by computerized system, drawn
from companies and individuals e-mail addresses worldwide. The draws are
officially announced 12th of February, 2009. You have being therefore been awarded
a lump sum of One Million Euro, which is the winning pay out for Category A

Yep i just had a call from someone saying i had also won a holiday for four but not the new york one and i said i didn't enter any competition and he just dais ' oh it was probably a while ago, a few people have said that'! Anyway he gave me a reference no to quote when i rang them up but thought it sounded like a scam - i asked him what i'd have to pay he said bout £29 towards it, so sensing a scam i thought i'd check on here and it seems i am right lol! God why do they waste our time like it?Mind you, he had my email details so where did they get that from?!

Just got this email - got all excited for a minute or two but am guessing it's a scam! They even use the Yellow Pages now? Tut tut!

They don't have to have actually got it from anywhere. I get piles of scam emails every week and some of them the 'to' field has something that's close to (but not) my email address so some of them will just send out thousands and thousands of emails hoping that some will hit the mark and people will believe them
