I got exactly the same call, and in my excitement I didn't even think to question the "call this number and quote this reference" :mad: It wasn't until the lady started asking me loads of questions and mentioned the £29.50 that the penny dropped.

I am not sure this has not been posted, but here it is: Had a couple of phone calls over the last few weeks, a taped voice says something like "you have been randomly selected to win an all expense paid holiday to Florida/Bahamas, for further information press 9"

I don't know if they can rig it for you to pay charges if you pressed a number on an incoming call, I think first time I tried but didn't connect to anything and I hung up quickly.

2nd time I did 1471, and got what looks like a mobile number from Romania:
004079999999.

Anyone knows anything about this and how best to stop it?

I received a similar call yesterday, but it was not recorded. A woman was telling me she was calling long distance from Florida, saying that I had qualified for a Bahamas cruise, and mentioned something about me registering with them, "don't you remember?" I told her that I didn't remember, and she read out a hotmail email address to me which I didn't recognize. I asked if I had actually won a prize in a competition, to which she replied I hadn't, but I had qualified for a discount. I told her I wasn't interested, and she just became quiet, so I hung up!
