My thread "Recession and Local Elections" was moved from Debate House Prices, the Economy & Recession to Discussion Time, where the economic sorts don't tend to venture.
Could you please explain why?
A suggestion.
I understand that Moderating is often a thankless task. But why not either (a) provide clear guideline as to what it allowed and what's not? or (b) post a comment when moving a thread to explain the rationale?
Otherwise it's not possible for people to learn from the mods actions.
Hopefully you'll take this comment on board. It's not like you're an elected bunch who can be voted out by the frequenters of the boards.

1 - There are no mods - there are BGs and admin staff - BGs are volunteers, admin staff (the ones with MSE in their names) are paid staff hired by Martin.
2 - BGs usually put a note on a thread or PM you - but bear in mind that sometimes we might not have time to... I think from memory all of us have full time jobs (ok I'm on maternity leave right now but normally I work for a living lol) so sometimes we don't have time to leave an explanation. Especially if we are accessing the boards from work during a break
3 - MSE staff rarely have time to leave an explanation on why a thread was moved - unless a BG has posted on the thread it is entirely possible your thread was moved by MSE staff and not a volunteer BG.
4 - if you feel it was unfairly moved then please contact Abuse explaining why you feel it ought to have remained on the original board - if they feel you are right they can move it back. If a BG moved the thread originally they can't move the thread back even if they wanted to unless they BG the other board too...
starting a thread about it however just starts arguments about how the boards are run and isn't particularly constructive

Hello bluey890
Maybe I need specs but I can't actually see a redirect (to show that a thread has been moved to a new board/location) in the 'Debate House Prices' board. Are you sure that you posted the thread in there?

Hi Nile
The redirect sign disappeared after a while. I am confident that it was originally posted in the debate board.
Thanks for getting back to me.

O.K. - thanks for clarifying.2 - BGs usually put a note on a thread or PM you - but bear in mind that sometimes we might not have time to... I appreciate this. Maybe a list of reasons threads may moved would be of use? I'm sure you appreciate that posters can become frustrated if things are moved around without any explanation.4 - if you feel it was unfairly moved then please contact Abuse explaining why you feel it ought to have remained on the original board - if they feel you are right they can move it back. I do appreciate the point you make.
Thanks to you and Nile for responses so far. It's nice to know people/BGs do listen to posters comments/suggestions.:)Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.

Am I ever to find out why or who moved my post? Is it even traceable?
