Best ADSL router modem

I was just wondering whether anyone might be able to recommend an ADSL modem router - wired only is preferable. I've used a number and find that they frequently need re-booting ... latest is a D-Link which needs a quick kick at least twice a week.
I'm on a BT line so can use its own Hub, but would prefer something else. I don't need bells and whistles, just a stable and reliable unit. Someone did mention Draytek (which are mainly for commercial use) although they do seem to have more options than I'd ever need. I'm not too hung-up on cost, either. I'm happy to pay top dollar for something which will deliver.
Thanks to all/anyone who gave advice to me on my thread regarding networking. I hope to return the favour from my limited techie knowledge - one day.
Best Wishes!

Your router should not need rebooting every few days! You may have a poor line or poor internal extension wiring. To eliminate your wiring, try using the BT master test socket and post your router line stats.

Thanks, great suggestion. The line runs at a healthy 5000 kbps. The IP profile is OK too. I have taken out the bell wire to mitigate against interference. Unfortunately, I don't have a master BT socket - but a junction box in the attic which feeds the slave sockets. This is unusual in itself, I know.
I think I've covered all bases .. but will look again at the wiring set-up.
    Thanks again!

i've got a 1 port linksys ADSL 2+ modem (hooked up to an apple time capsule router) and it works perfectly fine, and doesn't need rebooting at all..

had to reboot it once, but that was after a connectivity issue for an afternoon, just to bring it back up to speed, but since then (about 2 weeks ago) i've not touched it.... i just see it's pretty flashing lights!

I've used Draytek in the past and they are a great solid brand. you can pick up basic DrayTek router / modems quite easily. Check their website and you'll be able to compair the different options.

Thanks, I'm looking at at Draytek Vigor 2820 at around £140. There's quite a lot of old Draytek tech on Ebay, but I guess these have been pounded over years through commercial use. However, does solid state ever die??
I'll check the website. At the moment, Draytek seem like a good option .... they just come with SO many widgets and seem difficult to set up.
    Thanks!!!

Had this one for two years, never had to re-boot it.

At the time I bought it they were saying the chip in them (Thomson) was the reason they are so stable

Some reviews say the interface is complicated but I was new to the net and could set a password OK then just checked the default security setting for the hardware firewall was OK, which it was. I have it bookmarked (Firefox) so I can log on to it and see how much we have downloaded.
I use it with the Devolo high speed homeplug devices. Turn it off when not in use (rear switch). Never a problem, it just works.

£140 seems a lot to spend when you have 2 already. What are the symptoms, if you've tried several, an expensive one is unlikely to cure it.

Thanks for all the great replies! Much appreciated. I'm checking the links now.
I don't know how to post the stats for the router ... but will try to find out. I'm running a D-Link 504 at the moment.
    Thanks again!!
