Remember to look beyond the shiny toys and offers! A free railcard you hardly use that only costs c.£25 a year anyway is much less useful then, say, an interest free overdraft that you don't have to pay back the day of graduation!
I was quite happy with Natwest.. But do look at all the facilities you get as a friend of mine almost got caught out by HSBC wanting their £2,000 overdraft paid back within three months of leaving uni.
Endsleigh do specialist student cover, can't remember the exact details but the only thing I owned worth enough to insure seperately was my laptop. They were always really helpful, too!0
