I really like that idea, feed the birds, get rid of the slug... Only we have a couple of cats and they have scared away all the birds from our yard. Pity.:rolleyes:SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0 -
My garden is really wet so we are inundated with slugs and snails. I grow all my veg & annuals in pots and I use the copper tape on vulnerable plants, but it is expensive. Haven't yet found a way of keeping them off seedlings, apart from moving the pots around & now the sligs have found their way into my mini greenhouse  . I think they must be really tiny ones because I never see them.
I have used the "barrier" type in the garden but so far the only slug pellets I have seen have all been the nasty type - maybe I haven't looked very well...
Anyone have any experience with nematodes? Are they any good for pots? I've looked in various garden centres for those as well but I think they're only available online.0 -
While I was out yesterday, my sil sprinkled some slug pellets around my beans - unfortunatley nasty ones - good news is there are about 100 dead snails - I've picked them up and binned them. I know the nasty ones can kill birds, but do they do us any harm?0
