Will it affect anything internally such as credit limit increases?
May affect short term..6-12 months but after you build some positive history..no late payments, no overlimit fees you should qualify for limit reviews

We pay all our card and loans by DD except for one. That is simply because when we got it (littlewoods credit card) they initially didn't do DD and we got in the habit of paying them via internet banking each month.

Have never missed it since we've had it (about 3 years). The minimum payment is now around £8 - £12 per month. Guess what happened 3 months ago, received the statement saying we had missed the payment and the account was suspended until it was paid.

Phoned them straight up, apologised, paid it and tried to set up a DD, got cut off half way trough trying to set up the DD, couldn't be bothered with going through the very long conversation we had endured so far, so keep meaning to do it at a later date.

Checked my and my wife's credit file today. Everything full of green zeros except for the last entry for Littlewoods where there's a horrible yellow 1 . That was for our March statement, not sure why green zeros haven't gone on there for April yet.

Makes us a very bad credit risk now
Martin Lewis is always giving us advice on how to force companies to do things.

How about giving us advice on how to remove ourselves from any part of
    MoneySupermarket.com

I hereby withdraw any permission Martin might have implied he gave MoneySupermarket.com to use any of my data. Further more, I do not wish ANY data about me, or any of my posts etc to be held on any computer system held by MoneySupermarket.com or any business it has any commercial interests in.

Ok, so write in to Littlewoods and politely explain what you've written here about getting cut off etc and ask if, as a gesture of goodwill, they will remove the late payment.

Its unlikely they will but no harm in asking. The yellow 1 doesn;t make you a high risk, lenders will ignore one late payment - it happens to the best of people (funeral/holiday/bank change - there are a host of reasons and legible excuses)...

Also, regards to the late payment on Aqua, they tend to work to the premise of no more than 1 late payment in any 6mth period and you'll be fine. So i'd say that you'll have to wait 6mth from the last payment made after the late one before you can realistically look for an increase.
