Not sure but there will be at Pontins. I will be leaving my case in the car and leaving the car at Pontins then walking back for it when it's time to go home.If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
We went over the half term recently after previously going last summer.
Its still one of the best pontins/holiday camps that I have been to, although accomodation is getting "dated" now.
Having half board is a godsend, although it does bump the price up... but normally get a good breakfast and tea and don't need to spend much in the 'fast food' places on sight.
I think the half term was probably the first week it was open as they were still doing maintenance, gardening etc.
Last summer both evening venues were open, whereas recently it was just the one (princes bar?)
Entertainment was OK... the professional acts they get in are very good, although sometimes the bluecoat shows leave a little to be desired... but can't fault them for effort!
We will be going again!
Oh, take some curtain hooks... when we got to our chalet the curtains were all falling off the rails and although I reported it, they never showed up with any to replace. Ended up going to the Morrisons on the other side of the airport to get some replacements!0 -
I am going on the 3rd July for the weekend, I haven't had my papers through yet as I only booked the other day, will I get the free pass for the tower?
I'm suspecting there isn't a hell of a lot to do within Pontins (based on going to the Prestatyn one previously) so might order Pleasure Beach wristbands online before we go and go there on the Monday because we have to check out at 10am, may aswell use the last day.
Any tips? It's just me & my 8 yr old son going, my first single parent break ha ha, I'm a little bit nervous.
Hi ZoeWe booked last Sunday and only received our confirmation on Friday so it does take nearly a week to come through.
With regards to the free tower pass this was a deal running through the Daily Record and there was a voucher code for this but I only found this out later. We are going to e-mail them and ask anyway because I figure there is no harm in asking.
Just to make you aware as well - we pre-booked pleasure beach tickets last year and it was an awful day weather wise. The pleasure beach will not provide a refund in this situation even though only a limited number of rides were running and they closed early. Therefore we felt it was a waste of money that day and we were wet and miserable. I think yes it is cheaper on line but try to do it just before you go so you get a rough idea of the weather first.
For a cheaper day out - we love Stanley park there is crazy golf, boats, tennis, putting and trampolines in the park and it isn't too expensive. You can get a bus direct from the gates of Pontins (I think) and the open top bus stops outside Pontins and goes to stanley park and the zoo as well as central blackpool.
Hope you enjoy your holiday0 -
if you go into the morrisons by the airport, next to the main doors there is a leaflet stand for all the blackpool attractions. the only one i picked up the other day was for £4 off each entry for up to 5 people at the sea life centre but there may have been more money off things too for other places. If you want to travel a bit i would say go to farmer parrs in fleetwood. Google it they have a website, lots of animals to see and much cheaper than the zoo if you are on a budget. Also going the other way, St Annes is a short bus ride away and has a small pier with arcades and a lovely beachfront to walk down. There is also a toby carvery there and a cinema, playground, trampolines etc. Hope this helps0

Whilst not very MSE, personally I would take a couple of cloths and a bottle of dettol surface cleaner or even a home made spray of Stardrops/water.
At least then, you could have a quick squirt round and know the surfaces are clean.
Weather report for Blackpool today.......lovely and sunny.
If you go to the Metro bus site for Blackpool, you can have a look at the bus routes and also consider the costs for a day ticket etc.
Hope you enjoy your stay.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Hi
Sorry cant help you with the Blackpool camp but we were unlucky enough to win a midweek break at Pontins and we went to the Southport camp at Easter. I have holidayed in many camps, Butlins, Haven and now Pontins and I will never ever return to any Pontins camp.
When I entered the park I felt as if I was in some sort of 1970's timewarp, the accommodation was so dated and the venues and swimming pool were not any better.
We ended up going home early as our chalet was over-run with ants and we were advised by the accommodation manager that all chalets had the same problem so moving us wouldnt help. However dont know whether Blackpool might be better, the good thing there is you can use it as a base for Blackpool.0 -

This is the first thing I do when we get there! I also put all the cutlery and dishes in the sink with boiling water and bleach everywhere! If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -

I have been thinking about this, I don't want to prebook to save a few quid and then have a miserable day if it rains. When you book online do you just print something off or do you have to wait for something to come in the post?If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -

I am sure you just print off the confirmation and you need to take that and I think the card it was booked with to their ticket desk - sorry I am not definite about this because it was my Dad that booked it last year.0
