With regards to the renewable offers from BT, these contracts are renewed automaticaly unless we are told by the customer they no longer wish to have the offer. This means that when the first 12 months of the offer has ended and it is time for the contract to be renewed there will be bill produce that has the full charge of the call package without the discount. The reason for this is BT always charges in advance for our services, because of the advance charges this means that the customer still does have the option of not renewing the deal. If they chose to renew the contract any discount that is owed on the current bill will be applied to the next bill when it is produced.“Official Company Representative

I was on a 12 month renewable contract, but in April I was charged for Unlimited Evening and Weekend. I rang BT and at first was told it was amistake and would be put right on the next bill. The next bill arrived with an adjustment for the current month only. I rang BT again and was told my next bill would be adjusted. As I was getting a bit sceptical by now, I rang back and asked why the current bill couldn't be adjusted. I pay by DD and there was plenty of time to make an adjustment. BT have the resources and technology to do this? I was then told that my contract started in July 08 and ended April 09 so no more discounts due until July 09. I would have to pay the extra between April and July!
What happened to the 12 month rolling contract - surely that's a misdescription?
It's not the money that's the issue, it's the shoddy treatment, poor customer service and lack of a clear explanation.
In July I will be leaving BT (been with them for years) so if anyone can recommend another provider I would be grateful.0 -
I'd have to take a look at your bill in detail to understand whats happened, happy to do this and give you a clear answer. Can you PM me your telephone number and I will look at it for you

I've had billing problems with BT over the last 12 months, no paper-free discount credited, also 12 month call plan contract was not renewed automatically even after receiving their letter saying no action was necessary. Everything now has been resolved but it has taken a lot of unnecessary time and communication with BT.0

Hardly surprisingly, given amount of people having problems of one kind or another with BT at moment, Representative's In Box is full again so not accepting messages.butterfly )i(0

Why should I have to pay 3 months line rental in advance? When I took out new broadband package in March I was told it would be £32/month including line rental, now the bill shows 3 months line rental in advance. Other posts mention 1 month in advance which I can understand.0

Whether you pay line rental for one month or three months in advance will depend on if you are on monthly or quarterly billing with BT.
Sounds as if you are on quarterly billing - you could always ask BT to change you to monthly billing..
