Ive got a quite new HD ready samsung tv with the digital freeview channels built in. When watching football on ITV the commentators always say if you wanna watch it in HD press the red button, but when I do, nothing happens?? Am I doing something wrong? Would be great to watch champions league in HD !!

You can only watch ITV HD via Freesat at the moment, or some Sky boxes.
The Freeview HD service/boxes will be fully available from mid-2010 ....and unfortunately will require a separate freeview HD box.
Others may be able to shed more light on the situation
Thanks0 -
I wasn't aware that there is any firm date to launch HD on Freeview yet? It could be a couple of years away.
The HD boxes might be available next year, but I doubt that they'll be any HD channels to receive on them!No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I'm not too sure on the mid-2010 date either, but i cant find the link that said.........Freeview would be available in London in time for the 2010 world cup, so i suppose BBC and ITV would probably provide most of the coverage0

It's all going to be rolled out in London this month and Freeview HD boxes will soon cost just £80. Well so said OFCOM last August, but let's not hold our breath

No, Freesat requires a satellite connection, you can use the same dish and LNB as you already have for Sky, but you need a dedicated Freesat digibox.
There are some new Panasonic TV's that now have built in Freesat HD tuners, so with one of those you don't need a digibox, just a dish.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
