In your case it is the right decision and you will move forward again (I haven't paid my tax bill either going to pay it tomorrow when my cheque clears
)
You will get there and this is only a minor setback take care.
DTxxMorning all - Paul - don't be down hearted - you will get there!!!
Another small ish payment here today but got email to say expenses have been sent for payment so will be able to pay more when they come in!
so for today £1.35 towards halicrap cc.
the bad news is when I calculated how much I needed to pay a day to get my halicrap cc under £5K by september - I kinda forgot to take into account the interest jsut added on - ohh dear!
Thanks for the support.
Good result here.
OK I had to withdraw £200 on a cc. It will cost but there's no avoiding it. I had zero balance on it so my PADs will be heading the way of this card for now.
However, I phoned up Tesco card first to see what their rates are and got a good result. I have a 0% deal elsewhere that is about to expire so I was able to transfer two thirds of it to the Tesco card. It's a funny deal that I have with them. Initially, I went for the 6.9% LOB they offered but the guy suggested something else. At the moment they have 0% for 6 months with 2.25% BT fee and they also have a 6.9% LOB deal (no BT fee). Once he established that I would be doing minimum payments for some while, he suggested that I transfer the equivalent of minimum payment for 6 months at the 0% deal and transfer the rest on the 6.9% LOB deal. As the 0% is paid off first, he explained that it will never revert to their standard rate. At the end of the 6 months, only the 6.9% LOB deal will be left. Ingenious. I queried it at first and he just said that everyone does. I explained that we are so used to card companies trying to shaft us that when someone comes up with an unusual but good suggestion, the first thought is a sceptical one. The saving is a small one due to the 0% having a BT fee but does represent a saving just the same.
The only small fly in ointment is that the minimum monthly repayment is a little higher (3%) but on a debt of that size, I am referring to a difference of about £22 per month (decreasing). I can live with that - especially as the first repayment isn't until mid September.
This will more than make up for the cash withdrawal fee and higher interest rate for cash withdrawal incurred elsewhere.
Result, eh?0 -

You know what? As I'm not having a good day today and I've already blown the diet, I might as well throw the rest of the contents of my purse into the PaD pot. So... the princely sum of 10p will be my third and final PaD today.
Now will my day brighten up? Hmmm I think not. And my stupid arm WON'T STOP ITCHING!!!!! :mad:Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
postingalwaysposting wrote: »Ok I am back to say I think today will be my last PaD. You can read in detail why on my diary but basically I used to (when I was in debt) spend just £5 a week. However now I just spend all the time :eek: So I will be transferring everything but bills (and my £5 weekely spends) into my savings on payday so I will have nothing to PaD each day. If I leave money in my main accounts to PaD I know I will be tempted so sorry guys but I have to use a plan of savings that will work for me.
Good luck with all your PaD's to save/pay off debt :j
You could always let me have it to look after for you.
