Hi All
Still madly trying to catch up with everything!
Today's PAD is £5.22 to Evil Egg
PADs are going to have to be a bit smaller after today - I have realised that there is another payment which will be going out soon which I hadn't accounted for, my Camping and Caravanning Club membership fee. It is manageable but I just need to be a bit careful!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All,
I've fallen off the pad waggon a bit recently so I'm back on it now and have started a spending diary too.
My PAD for today is £65
Another way of using a spending diary is to allocate a specific amount from your budget and deduct spending through the week. Try to end the week with some over to carry forward to the next week. This avoids overspend and monitors your buying habits.0 -

Morning all!
Bit of a suprise today - checked my Lloyds TSB a/c & see that the have indeed done the BT....when I used the balance cheque - although when I phone they told me they couldn't do ANY BTs on the a/cSuppose they could still bounce the cheque.......we'll just have to wait & see, but they've taken the BT fee as well, so I am cautiously optimistic:D It was the Virgin I BTd......so with todays PAD of £112.73 to vicious Virgin.....the bal on that card *should* be a big fat ZERO - here's hoping:T

Thanks for the totals DT.
Yes, we are slacking a bit aren't we?
I'm even having a much needed day off today. Nothing to do with recession but I've worked so hard lately, I've actually run out of work. I don't mind as I have housework/decluttering/business paperwork to do - not to mention watching Star Trek on TV.
I could do this all the time if they paid me enough.
A day off to take stock is nice at times. I've got a stackload of work coming up over the next three weeks before my holiday and a boot sale to do on August 9th (weather permitting) so it's not as if I'm going to be idle.
EDITED TO SAY: Egg on my face re recent rant about Vodafone. i popped my SIM card into a very ancient phone that I have and everything works just fine. Plenty of constant signal. It would appear that the new fangled phone that I've had for a couple of years probably has an aerial that doesn't work. It's out of guarantee though. My choices are to go with the ancient one (can't get all the info on there and no PC facility to back up the SIM) or get the newer one repaired and pay for it. Paying for a repair is not really viable with such stuff though. It's usually just as cheap to get a new one. I could ask Vodafone for a new contract phone but that would mean me extending my contract with them (ends in November) and I will probably want to go for PAYG. I think my most likely option is to buy a PAYG phone independent from any contract, use the Vodafone SIM in it, and go PAYG when the contract is over. It's a tough call to make because it's possible to squeeze good deals from them if you ask for a PUK code as if you are leaving. The flipside of that is that I use the number as a business number and need to keep it. If a mishap should befall me that screws up my credit rating or, even worse, I need to go for a DMP or bankruptcy, that would screw up the contract and may cause a problem with keeping the number.
It seems ridiculous that, including my mortgage, I owe over 5 times my annual income but have a decent credit rating. I can get away with that as interest rates are low and because I am single and self-employed. However, it would only take one modest disaster to befall me in the next 2 - 3 years to change all that.0
