It better come soon, eating brown rice and drinking water is making me want to eat Twix ice creams! (Well, they would be Martin's snack of choice as they're on offer in Tesco - £1.49 for 6)
Been at it again with the nursery nurse that's been visiting!
To cut a long story short, I told her, again, that we've not been accepting help as we don't think it's necessary (que the discussion on that letter we received last week, special playgroup & my bl**dy feelings - I wish they'd stop bl**dy asking how I feel ) due to Adam's age and she told me that 'they've' been discussing us (no great surprise there though) and it turns out that some of 'them' think that we're in denial as we've not been showing any sign of budging on the matter
OH piped up that we can't be in denial as we don't know that there's going to be any major issues that we're denying - that had her stumped!!
The nursery nurse is such a nice woman and I didn't want to have a go at her as the health visitor told her to ask us, again, if we needed any help - she also told me that the other nursery nurses have been trying to avoid coming round which is why we've only been seeing her so far - I was gobsmacked!!Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Hehe you lucky thing danko, I wish I could stuff myself and still lose! I'm currently tucking into some tesco value cheese and blossom hills finest, very posh lol but not so good for my bum! I'm determined to lose at least another 9lbs by the end of the summer holidays - I want to go back to work and get all the compliments haha. Will have to do some serious hard work I think, I've been a bit lax with things such as, oooh cheese and wine??? haha
Nothing planned for my birthday, I was thinking about Alton Towers or Thorpe Park but it's alway packed in the summer holidays so I'm not sure. And it's money that I could be spending on pad... lol. I might end up just having a night out and letting everyone by me drinks :money:
Glad you are sticking to your guns angelicmary, he's your kid and you know best.

Ooo you scary woman you!!I am surprised they've been so persistent. I work with children with special needs and usually have parents complaining because they've been given a diagnosis and then sent on their way with no support. I help to run parent groups that these parents have found really useful. It seems the health service just can't get the balance right can they? It's all or nothing.

They bang on and on and on about help and support but I don't see how they can help just now? Why would I take a 7week old to playgroup?! Surely we need to see how he is ina few months before we can decide the best course of action to take?
I think they've just been so persistent because they thought we were in denial - I told the NN to go ack to the HV and tell her to p*ss off!I was furious to find out that they've been avoiding us! We're drowing in leaflets that we've not read and phone numbers that have been put away just because I want my wee boy to be a baby before he becomes 'special needs' - if that makes any sense!

Thanks Flower!
It just seems to be made worse because they've put us on additional visits which means they'll be coming once a fortnight whan the visits should only last 6weeks :eek:Started PADdin' 13/04/09 paid £7486.66 - CC free 02/11/10

Always feels good to have the house looking more 'finished'. I think I know where it might be but you're not far away!
Where are you going in the States you lucky thing? Bet you can't wait!

thank you! no, i'm not far from you at all! lots more to do (hall, stairs, landing, kitchen and utility all suffered collateral damage from garage conversion) but all in good time. we have run out of motivation and money for now

we are trying something different this year for our flights, so instead of flying from m/cr we're driving down to heathrow on 26 july and flying out on 27th. should make it easier on a direct flight. we hope.
