Sorry, I just had to unload.
I've been made redundant twice this year while the OH has still worked.
He just texted me to ask if I would buy him a personalised numberplate for £390 for his 50th birthday. Now, he knows I'm skint, he hasn't bothered much in the past five years with buying me presents or cards as his cash generally goes on buying himself booze (while I and my family buy food for us bothe). And the crunch....................HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A CAR,:mad: and he's got no chance of getting one in the next ten years. I just flew off the handle at him and he says I'm being touchy and that he was just joking. Am I being unreasonable? Bear in mind he texted me this so I didn't know that he was (apparently) joking. Have a sneaky suspicion he was testing the waters and then realised when he was going to be boiled alive that he better make it into a joke.
Text messages are always really hard to suss out as to whether someone's pulling yer leg and such. I'd certainly be having a word and tell OH to behave and buy you something in the way of prezzies!! :D

    Well folks, I did it.

Today I did just enough to achieve my highest ever month's turnover - and there's still tomorrow to go yet. I won't go in to numbers because I don't think that is right (especially as so many people are struggling to keep or get a job).
I'm £8.80 over my previous best with a day to spare. Mind you, as the money trickles in, it will be going straight out again to my debts - most notably the taxman next month.
:T Well done Paul, that's great news! You must be really pleased and feel like you're moving forwards. Hope the turnover keeps up for you :D

    Well folks, I did it.

Today I did just enough to achieve my highest ever month's turnover .

Good work ! If your area was a bit further north into sunny South London I would get you to do mine. I'd have to pay you x5 at least as the area has so many of those restaurant extraction fans nearby they get caked in muck.

EDit : read this back and thought I had better post to say I was talking about my windows. :rotfl::rotfl:

Well the furthest north I currently go for work is the Caterham area and a bit further to the west and south I do Redhill/Reigate/Merstham. I assume you are a fair bit further up if you are calling it south London. I do use a window cleaning business forum too. If you want some windows cleaned I might be able to put you on to someone or them to you. Mind you, I expect that you could get someone yourself if you wanted.
I have been into central London before for work but that was only because it was a very large job and VERY well paid.
Glad to see you edited it :D

Woow Sue! That's fab news on your weightloss, well done! :T :j How do you do it??

As for the lottery win, well done you! I'd have been having a fit on the floor! This week for the big win hey? ;)

Hi Danko, thank you so much :smileyhea...................for anyone interested you eliminate everything from your diet except veg, lean meat, egg, tiny tiny piece of cheese and about 6-8 nuts per day for 2 weeks..................tough but you can eat in whatever quantities you can. The idea is to level out your sugar in your blood. Slowly after the 2 weeks you introduce a food group a week and see what happens. So week 3 will be fruit in the form of an apple, week 4 Dairy in the form of yoghurt etc etc. The key is to watch what happens to your weight. This is ideal for those that don't eat rubbish but still don't loose weight. If anyone would like to PM I will be happy to let the know the name of the diet and author (A doctor) Didn't think it would be forum etiquete to blurt out on here.;)
    Boil him anyway ;) .
Love that one :rotfl::rotfl:My OH has been "boiled" many a time, he does this regularily:mad:
