i saw this in the guardian's money section on saturday
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1078975245,19185,
i was particularly interested in the BMI classic card offering 20000 miles (scroll down half way to "top freebies available") but when i look at the bmi site i cant see anything about it. Just earn airmiles as you spend - which is pretty rubbish really.
can anybody point me to the right place?
thanks

Can someone tell me where to find out which destinations 20,000 miles will fly me to from Edinburgh (or London)?
Thanks

You can access the information via grumbler's link above, but here is a direct link...

I was wondering something about this deal. I'm a bit dubious of it to be honest. The reason is that 20,000 is a very long way. I did a round the world trip that included about 13 flights for only 28,000 miles. In fact I've just found a distance calculator and it seem that London to Sydney is 10,600 miles. I'm not sure how accurate that is but it only goes to show that this thing will get you a lot further than Russia! Unless this distance calculator is wrong.

I see it now. So 20000 miles gets you to zone two which is most of Europe. That is a con then if 20000 miles only gets you about 5000 real miles.0

Although the credit card deal is still a very good one!0

Does anyone know how to get 5000 more airmiles with the star alliance group relatively cheap? Would mean you could get to a load more countries with a £140 or £170 supplement.
Does anyone know if you can also get special last minute deals using airmiles. Like a zone 3 flight for the price of a zone 2 flight?
Cheers!0 -
Thing to note is it's not actually airmiles, but BMI own brand ones! (Destinations Miles)!0

BMI miles are free with the credit card, but once you get to book you'll still need to pay charges and taxes. These amount to £40 to £50 per round-trip ticket in Zone 2 so may actually save very little over the prices of other airlines such as easyjet etc.
Thought you'd like to know!0
