Mondeo Air conditioning problem
Options
I have a 2003 Mondeo 2.0 TDCI (130 6spd).I put into Nationwide autocentre for air con service but guy says that he thinks air con pump is not working and cannot get a/c working.
Does anyone have any clue how much this will cost to fix at Ford garage as it is simply not a re-gas of system?.
Cheers....Neil

Sounds like the condensor has gone....Be best off sourcing a second hand one...https://www.partsgateway.co.uk0

If its the 'pump', I would have thought the guy meant the compressor.
Your local Ford dealer should be able to quote the total cost of repair.
But that assumes the compressor is actually faulty. It could not work because of a loose or broken cable for example. I'd be inclined to book the vehicle into a Ford dealer simply stating the A/C doesn't function and then allow them to look at the car, diagnose the cause of the fault correctly and quote a price."Now to trolling as a concept. .... I would look for a auto air con specialist in the Yellow pages which is what the dealer will probably do anyway.0

The fact that the guy @ NAT says he "thinks" it's the pump would make me take my car else where.
Try Polar AirConditioning. they are a good firm based in North Manchester.
the pump might not be working cue to the system having no gas in it. Simple top up will solve this.
However, could be other stuff!
Can't really say we've done much with the aircon on Mondeo's.0 -

Either way OP needs to go to someone who knows what they are doing and agree that if they 'think' the pump is not working, then they clearly do not know what they are doing.Genie
