What? Has no one told them the Rebublic was declared? The bowsies.
Seriously some people have real trouble with it, I have to explain regularly in my job as a postal manager that partition actually happened before we were born and no Dublin, Cork etc. need an international postage applied and not 1st class.
One of my workers had to have it explained to him that the troubles were in the North because he had always wanted to see Dublin but was worried about all the bombs. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Now I get you jammin. Little wonder people make mistakes when the Dublin government keep changing their bloody name all the time. Its enough to confuse Einstein.
Is Eire their official name on paper?, but they use the English translation 'Ireland' to promote the state? then you have the geographical name 'Ireland' for the island...and N.Ireland is the North
My heads spinning already:rotfl:0 -

And then some MLAs add to the confusion by just calling it "here" or "the north" while the whole island is "all ireland" Very confusing! Why can't we just stick to NI and ROI? It makes more sense than to keep changing all the time!:DNorthern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
And to confuse the matter further some people display the sticker 'NI' on their car for the international registration code for Northern Ireland
The correct international code for N.Ireland is 'GB'.
The international code for the Irish Republic is 'IRL'
'NI' does not exist

didn't know that Ballyblack. wasn't there some Unionist politician trying to get that put on our registration?0

N.Ireland doesn't even have its own government sanctioned flag to accompany the Union flag, but other regions of the UK do.
Maybe its time we start creating one that will please both sides of the community and bring some type of normality to the area.0
