    hey guys,

i'm in the beginnings of a DMP with the CCCS and am really worried about sending the template letter to the wrong address...i know its really silly but i just want everything to go smooth

i'm looking to sort out a loan, an overdraft and a credit card all issued from the halifax BoS, does anyone know if they can all be sent to the main "registered office" (the mound Edinburgh) or will there be separate adresses for each unit?

I had all of these with Halifax/Bank of Scotland, I sent them all separately, Credit card I sent to the usual payment address, overdraft to the branch but can't remember where I sent the loan to.

Just had a letter. Well it was more like a wage slip. No identification on outside. Teared off the perforations and there was a message statiing Halifax were sending someone around. I am on a dmp with cccs and payments for this month have been paid. what are they playing at. Has anyone had one of these. Not nice.

    Hi nolnoc,

I haven't received anything like this but, i shouldn't worry too much. If you have a look through the recent threads, there is a letter you can send out saying please only contact me by letter and you do not wish anyone to visit. I think by law you basically do not have let them in, speak to them, and you can ask them leave your property if they do not you are quite within your rights to call the police. I'll see if i can find it for you.

Please don't worry too much i'm sure its just scare tactics. :D

I'm glad that you have managed to sort things out, I find it very strange that creditors use "we may call your house" as a threat, I don't want any of my creditors to visit me, but if they do, I honestly couldn't care less, If they want to waste their time and fuel then that's their perogative :D

It is more than likely used as a scare tactic in the hope that the debtor is hiding their problem from their relatives, so if at all possible it's probably always best to come clean with those who share your home, that way you always have their support and somebody else who can tell them where to go :D not always possible I know.

I have a collection agency not far from where I live and should they ever send a letter to my house saying that a doorstep collecter may call, I will return the favour by saying don't bother I will call at your place instead

  • Hi everyone. I haven't been on here for a while. Today I got a letter from Tesco saying that my DMP proposal was not acceptable to the bank, but that they would agree to it for 28 days. Is this standard for them? They will just have to accept as I have no more money to give them.

Funny, three months ago this would really have upset me; now I feel quite defiant about it all.

  • Hi

As you say they can't have what you haven't got. Citi Cards were the same with me, they refused my DMP but did take their share of the pot each month and good enough froze interest, after 6 months they passed my accounts to a DCA, and so far so good.

Oooh! Fighting talk scouselad? I'll hold your coat for you if it comes to fisticuffs :)
As you say, very much used as a scare tactic and also very true about sharing the situation with your nearest and dearest.
Hi to all newbies  Stick with this thread - much more informative and entertaining than those Oscar thingys in the news at the moment. (Start preparing your speech for when you receive your own 'golden statuette' in the form of being rid of a DMP forever :D)

    LOL :D

Whilst I was in this frame of mind I decided to go against all of the usual advice and telephone one of my creditors :o sorry to let you all down:o
Anyway I was fed up of the dam telephone ringing until 11.10pm of an evening and my letters being constantly ignored and told them so, I know it normally gets you nowhere, but I was promised that my number would be removed from their automatic dialer from midnight tonight.
