I have a quick question maybe someone could enlighten me...

CCCS need "up to date creditor statements or letters". How does this apply to overdrafts? Do I give them a bank statement and they pay into my account/sort code?

I'm slightly puzzled because there is a good chance they will freeze the account and prevent any pay ins.

I also don't have a statement for my loans, will they accept my word as I phoned to get a balance? I really want to get this rolling as soon as possible but am slightly worried that CCCS wont accept the balances without "official" paperwork meaning more delays (and probably charges) :(

Hi, with my current account overdraft I just sent CCCS a copy of my statement and they never asked for anything more from me.

And for my loan I didn't have a statement, rang for balance then sent them a copy of the loan agreement with a note explaining and they were fine with that.

Thanks for that, although I couldn't find the loan agreement either :(

It does show up as an "account" on my online banking thingy although it's still the original amount as the balance presumably until the loan is settled.

    Hi Guys

Has anyone on a CCCS DMP had problems with their payments due to February being a short month ?

A couple of my creditors are saying that I am behind with a payment as Februarys statements were produced earlier than normal, meaning that the CCCS payment did not reach the creditor until after they had printed Februarys statement.

Now my payment date for March is 20th and not the 25th as it normally is, so my next CCCS payment will not reach my account before March's statement is produced.

I don't want to have charges added to my account, so should I speak to the creditors about this, or make an extra payment myself, not reccomended but the easy option, as it is easy for CCCS to say do nothing as the creditors know when payments are sent, but that doesn't stop them adding charges to my account. The payments in question are £5 x 2

If I make the extra payments then I will always be ahead by a month, as the payment sent on February 25th by CCCS will then be my March payment

This didn't happen to me this month, but having been on a DMP since 2005, it has caused me problems a number of times. If you have the extra £10 to put towards the debt, then anything you can do to pay it off sooner is worth doing, but it probably won't work to put yourself permanently ahead - when creditors 'reset' the plan after 6 months or a year you will then be in the same situation.

My approach (which works) is to just ring the creditors, explain agin that you are on a DMP with CCCS and explain that CCCS pays on the 25th and there is nothing you can do to change that. They may grumble but they eventually agree to change the payment date. They often ask if I can make a payment over the phone, but I just tell them that I am paying the maximum I can to CCCS and have nothing else spare.

NB I know a lot of people advise against phoning. Personally I have found it the fastest way to get things done, and providing you stay polite then so will the people at the creditors. However sending a letter to explain the dates should work too.

  • Hi

Thank you for your reply, your advice is much appreciated, how did you get on with creditors resetting your plan every 6/12 months, did they contact you or did you contact them before your plan expired.

Oops - sorry for the delay in replying. Creditors contacted me generally - then I just asked CCCS to send them an up to date financial statement. Not all of them do it (and none of those where debt has passed to a DMC), and they are all on a different schedule.

    hey guys,

i'm in the beginnings of a DMP with the CCCS and am really worried about sending the template letter to the wrong address...i know its really silly but i just want everything to go smooth

i'm looking to sort out a loan, an overdraft and a credit card all issued from the halifax BoS, does anyone know if they can all be sent to the main "registered office" (the mound Edinburgh) or will there be separate adresses for each unit?

Just had a letter. Well it was more like a wage slip. No identification on outside. Teared off the perforations and there was a message statiing Halifax were sending someone around. I am on a dmp with cccs and payments for this month have been paid. what are they playing at. Has anyone had one of these. Not nice.

I had this one but when I read it properly it doesn't really say they're sending anyone to your home - it says something like 'An agent will call your home' I think they just play with the words to scare you. No-one ever came round to me, try not to worry about it.
