You know all those times in the past.. before you finally hit your LBM... Where you considered trying to sort it out.. but then the thought of it all got tooo scary, so you pushed it to one side and just carried on as if it weren't there.
THATS what's been happening to me (a lot) the last few days.
To the point where yesterday I opened the post, read it.. and plonked it on the shelf.. (just like I would have before my LBM) ...
Instead of (now) sorting out how I needed to respond to it.. filing it in my folders.. making notes about it on my Pc. and firing the next letter back to them. (or whatever)
(but I AM going to do it today) ..
Anyhooo.. its made me realise.. that without the back up of everyone here.. and without posting here and keeping talking (and keeping reading!) .. My little head is tryyyiing sooo hard to pull back inside its shell and wishing it would all just go away.
Thankyooooooo for being my lifeline.. and stopping my head from going all the way back in. :beer:Very proud of trying to deal with my debts. LBM 04/09

I think that naturally there's a sense of 'I don't want to deal with this today' because money isn't and shouldn't be the centre of anyone's world. Life goes on, debt or no debt. And that's the way it should be. Creditors will do what they are going to do and you can't spend your days waiting on a knife edge to see if they will write/phone/e-mail. So I think your recent 'hiding back in your shell' is actually a good thing - you have to have relief from all this debt/money stuff....
I know you have recently been one of the most active members of DFW, writing regularly with lots of comments and updates, so maybe you just DFW'd yourself out! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Take care

:rotfl::rotfl: That could be it!
But you are right.. it's definitely not healthy really for me to be waiting/working/thinking 24/7 for the next Debt move.
It's become my hobby.. or Obsession rather.. and not a very nice one to have. :rotfl:

Hi all
Eupho - you are soooooo right!!
yesterday i had the morning off work & thought 'right - whoever rings i will talk to them - no one called me - all day!!! (i have no friends... :rotfl:)
but i've also realised i cannot jump everythime the phone rings & whatever the post brings -so be it.
now we've started on the DMP - this is my life now & instead of making debt the 'be all and end all' - its now a part of my life that we are dealing with.
life goes on & on & on...................................
Also - mine & hubby salaries go in today (WAHOO - we can eat!!!) and we are in credit!! no o/d eating our money! it looks veerrrry goood (at the mo)
but i have never budgeted so much in my life - this week has been sooo hard - i have had 30p in my purse and have been living off toast at work for 2 weeks!!! but it has shown me that i used to spend on the cc on useless stuff - i would buy lunch & 'nice bits' in M&S - almost daily. madness.
on & upwards
have good days
sasMassive !! LBM June 09 - Debts [STRIKE]£70k [/STRIKE] now £63k (PPI Claim succesfull)
will never ever ever get credit again (couldn't if i wanted!!!! - LOL - have to laugh, keeps me sane.
DFD 9 years away......................0 -
eupho - I'm too learning that life goes on, and that my debt shouldn't be the top of my list everyday! I go home at dinner to let my dogs out and I dread opening the door, to see what Mr postman has brought today! but yesterday i realised, I shouldn't be dreading going home, thats never right! thats when my lightbulb came on and I thought to hell with it, I'm dealing with it but that doesn't mean it should fill my life day in day out. posetive thinking from now on : )DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a very long time, although I have been reading in anticipation, It's good to see we have more posts, last time I came on I sat looking at my computer screen awaiting people posting.......sad I know!!!!
I've had so much going on and to be honest buried my head in the sand a bit, well completely, and we had an unexpected bonus, so I sort of (I know how could I, but) forgot about sorting out the DMP.....
Think the worst thing is I'm scared of actually doing it! Does anyone know if you get a CCJ can they put it into the local paper?
SHi88ing myself really...:eek:....(hope that doesn't offend anyone) my other half sort of knows whats going on but not totally and DMP is just going to be in my name!
Bla Bla Bla
sorry to go on. xxSlimming World Newby 75.5lbs for starters, another 75lbs after that!:rotfl:One small step for me one giant leap for my backside!;):rotfl:

Oh yeah and I'm going to try and get my DMP up and running, the longer I leave it the longer it will take to pay. About 20 years at the mo!!! eeek:eek: but at least I chose a Low start DMP and not IVA so they will get all their money back. Just as I said before........will prob have to buy some new underwear by the end of sorting it out .....
.
DO you think it is too late to try and sort it to start July or am I better off waiting till Aug?
Thanks all for listening to my ranting.:j:jSlimming World Newby 75.5lbs for starters, another 75lbs after that!:rotfl:One small step for me one giant leap for my backside!;):rotfl:

muddlemess - great to see you back, I'm not as knoweledgable as a lot of folk on here but just want to say, I understand how you feel, I've just started my DMP, well 1st payment due in July but I've sent all the letters and have started to receive responces back, I can't begin to explain the releif you feel once you get those first few letters (in my case as most have been quite accepting and understanding!) I'd say go for it and the sooner you commit the better, and the sooner your debt re-paid. : )you wont get a CCJ and your name wont be published anywhere, unlike IVA.I'm not sure if you'll get sorted for July, it's quite possible. Hope you're feeling a little better.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0

Hi
Not sure if this is the correct thread or not,
I am hoping you can offer me some advice regarding some debts. I have run up various debts and at the moment I am managing to pay them, however I have been told I am due to be made redundant on 1st Aug 2009, I think I have found another job, but it will be at a significantly lower salary. I am due a redandancy payment in the region of £25,000.
My current unsecured debts are:-
Halifax Loan - £221.19 per month, settlement figure £6660 (approx)
Hitachi Loan - £300.00 per month, settlement figure £14000 (approx)
NR Loan - £230.00 per month, settlement figure £14000 (approx)
Egg CC - £38.00 per month, balance is £910
Citreon HP - £189.00 per month, settlement figure £ 7000 (approx)
Out of the £25,000 redundancy pay, I need to pay back £3000 to my Mother In Law for help she has given me, this leave approx £22,000. If a pay of the car, I would have £15,000 left, aganist a balance of £35,510 (14 + 14 + 6.66 +0.91).
I have no arrears at the moment, do you think my creditors would accept a full and final settlement of approx 40p in the pound ???
At the moment I am not in arrears and am due to have a call with CCCS to discuss this in a few weeks.
Any advice appreciated0
