With regards to my overdraft I'd just like to clarify what I meant when I said I have maxed up my overdraft and taken all available credit out. I meant that I am using all of the overdraft every month. Every month I am always up to the maximum limit of my agreed overdraft of £1000 and aswell as my wages going in I also have to put extra money in eech month to pay all the outgoing dd's. I havent just physically emptied the account upto the amount of my overdraft so that I have spare cash in my pocket. For the past year probably more, the bank can see without me taking money out I have to put money in plus use the overdraft to pay the bills. I hope that makes sense. My OH gets paid weekly which helps and what I meant when I said (there was only a few pounds) is that when the dd's come out on monday there will only be a few pounds left in, less than £10.00. Just wanted to clarify that I havent got a £1000 overdraft that is not used and I have just withdrawn £1000 before I start the DMP. When the dd's have come out like I said I will have about £10 spare of the £1000 overdraft. I was going to take this out to use towards the rest of the months dd's but geoffmr1's comments have made me wonder now if I should:idea: LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

Everyone has there own opinion about stuff, of course, but as you say it's not like you were about to relieve the bank of £1000 unused overdraft.
If that tenner makes the difference between sink or swim I know what I'd do.
The bank will more than recoup the loss in the huge amounts of unlawful(IMO) charges and interest they levy.DMP Support Thread Member 238DMP started October 20080 -
My comment was not aimed at anybody in particular its a general observation. £10 is neither here nor there & neither is using one credit card to pay another (thats just trying to survive from month to month)
I just didn't want newbies thinking that the advice on here is to go & empty your overdraft facility to give yourself spare cash & then try to put it on a DMP because you could find yourself in real trouble as you could if you withdrew a load of cash off a credit card & then tried to put it on a DMP.
As Kudox said everyone has to do what they feel is right & we all have our own opinions on that. I was just getting concerned that having seen several comments on the last few pages about maxing out overdrafts that people reading through (including the financial institutions that do follow these pages) that some would get the idea you should put money aside from od's.
Sorry if anyone misunderstood what I was saying.:j DMP mutual support thread member - 135:j0 -
Thanks Kudox and Geoff, I was really worried when Sainsburys Visa were chasing us, they still haven't moved us from "Collections" so the phone starts up again every few days.
I had used the card up until July and I would also ask anyone considering a DMP to be careful as I was really concerned that using that card would be trouble, even though the debt was stuff like petrol!
Hope you all have a brill weekend x
Ps My song would be "Feel" by Robbie Williams - I've been a zombie for a few weeks!! But all will be well.:j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480 -
No posts today from Bobbyday - Probably got lots to think about, but I hope my post yesterday wasn't unhelpful. To be honest, I was refreshed to hear a young person, being so earnest about sorting things out responsibly, and I think I threw out too much info in a single post.
Let us know how things are Bobbyday! x

Hello everyone!
As with any other day ther have been good points and bad points to this day!
The Good:
My first payment shows up today on the CCCS Website in my DMP area :j:j:j . I also went and got a pack of 20 littlest pet shop toys for my middle daughters birthday - she'll be 4 next week. She loves those things and they were reduced by £10. Can't wait to see her face when she gets them
The Bad:
I have started getting texts from a company called SRJ, I have no idea who they are or what they want - I read somewhere they are connected with Fredrickson Int so I wonder if Fred have passed our Tesco card debt to them and we just haven't got the letter yet. In which case I don't know if CCCS sending our payment to Fredrickson will be pointlessI assume if that's the case Fred will tell them though, or I will receive a letter from these SRJ folk.
The Ugly:
Major fight with OH. We've been together since I was 18, 8 long years ago....we don't generally fight but my goodness we went for it today! I gave him back his engagement ring and everything.
I'm taking a moment on here with my fellow DMPers to just take some time out and chill, before I explode with stress!
I hope everything is goin well with you lot. Won't be long now and you'll be seeing your first payments in too! :cool:I'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -
Another thing I have learnt is that I am not alone now and I can gain strength from others. I know there are other people in the same situation as me, like all you guys, that have the same fears and problems as me, who have the same worry when the phone rings, who have headaches and heart palpitations the same as me. I also know now that things will get better, in fact it already has. I know that I have support from friends and family that will not judge me and who will be there for me when I need to laugh or cry. So for me lesson number 3 that I learnt this week is the best - I am not alone now.
So very true! We have all been through the lack of sleep, sick to the stomach, what do I do now? range of emotions.
Make no mistake it is very hard living on a DMP but we are all doing the very best we can.
I so appreciate the help and advice from our more learned friends - thankyou!
Good luck to you - you are taking the first steps on a journey to free your life up for the good things in the future.0 -

I agree also, none of it seems so bad once you realise you are not the only person in the world with these problems. :TI'm 26, been with my OH for 8 years - we have 3 beautiful daughters and no debt collector can ever touch our family.LBM: 03/10/09 Unsecured Debts: 69K  DMP Start Date 01/11/2009.0 -

Have a GREAT birthday Kudox! Your advice always invaluable - and I do hope you manage to resolve your added interest problems soon. I so feel for you. Am in the same boat and sometimes it's SO difficult.
Have a lovely day (who needs champagne anyway!)0 -
Little Miss Skint - Ohh Missus I know what's going on, really. I nearly devoured my OH when he had the CHEEK to BUY a sandwich in town when he was on a course!
I also told him that things would break down completely between us if his face was always going to be "like that" because I thought he didn't like the way I spent the food money! I'm not kidding. This is all so stressful and it's true what they say that "You only hurt the ones you love", so please try to have a bit of "us" time with him, if you can, even if its a DVD you both like and a bag of popcorn and a bottle of wine. You love him really!! It's just this !!!! messing with your head. xo:j:hello::hello::jDMP mutual support thread member 3480
