Hey All
Im just about to go to the post office to send off my signed CCCS DMP paperwork & all of the letters to my creditors explaining about the DMP (not sure when they will arrive though due to the postal strike ??) anyway was wondering if i should send them all recorded or signed delivery or just use postage stamps ?? Also do i need to send my banks letters re overdrafts or should i phone them instead as im a little stressed as although ive set up a basic bank account im still inbetweeen transfering essential direct debits & my hubbie isnt sure his wages will go into the new or old account yet due to late notice ???
Looking forward to your very much appreciated advice

Thank you Kudox!
I am beginning to loosen up now, oh god, I think I have done all I can for today. Cancelling DDs, I will send OH to clear what remaining cash there is of our overdraft when he gets in later, then we start again!
Happy Birthday for Sunday!
I think the down time is still on
soooooo sees you all later hopefully. Total Debt : £61,302.84 :eek:DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!Long Hauler #188 DMP Member 353Thank you so much to all posters :beer:0 -
Hi Jayenben,
I would send your letters recorded delivery at least as signed for special delivery costs a lot more although they are then guaranteed next day delivery (not sure if this still applies with the post strike though)
With regards to the bank overdraft I think a few of us are in the same position, I have just taken all available credit out so I have maxed up my overdrafts (there was only a few pounds) and I am trying to time it so the letters go out after the final dd's have gone out & the wages have gone in then taken out. The last thing you want is the bank receiving the letter then off-setting the account (taking all the money to pay towards your debt) . Dont phone anyone, from now on letters only and keep copies of everything. LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

Hey Northstar, I have just spent the last half hour thinking about songs! I wanted an anthem that I can sing to myself or maybe even out loud if I'm alone lol, so when I feel down and upset it cheers me up. If you look at my signature I have put some on, try and google them if you dont know all the words, they may help you right now x:idea: LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

Hey everyone!
Things arent as bad as I thought - I had misjudged my shifts and forgotten I had almost a months worth of 1.30-9.30 shifts to be paid so my pay packet was about £100 healthier than what I thought. Its definitely right though - checked through my diary and confirmed before I went and spent it!!
Had a lovely day yesterday and virtually finished my Xmas shopping - going to get the last few bits today.
I really feel for everyone who has to change their bank account, DD's, etc - it must be one more hassle you can do without. I was fortunate in being able to keep my A&L current account as I dont owe them anything - so a big WELL DONE to everyone that has managed it successfully
Take care everyone!

Hey bailey talking of songs I have just been looking at a thread called "your most beautiful song ever" (or similar) in the Moneysavers Arms forum and theres some crackers on there.Hey Northstar, I have just spent the last half hour thinking about songs! Probably not the best thing to do if you've got lots to do today, I could spend all day watching the videos on You Tube:rolleyes:DMP Support Thread Member 238

Hi all,
Can I just clarify that when people talk about maxing out their overdraft they aren't talking about withdrawing money immediately prior to going on a DMP??
I only say this because using a credit card or taking money out the bank which isn't actually yours whilst knowing full well you cannot afford to repay it is committing a crimminal offence (fraud).
Obviously this DMP thread is about repaying our genuine debts (not ludicrous charges & unfair interest), I just don't want newbies & people considering doing a DMP getting the wrong ideas.:j DMP mutual support thread member - 135:j0 -
Its a good job my pc at work doesnt have speakers otherwise I would be on there all day, I just love listening to them all. Specially all the ones I used to listen to growing up. I will probably nip over to that board shortly and check it out.
Jayenben it all depends when the DMP is set up for. If its not till Dec then I would think you will be okay. I have got to send my pack back to CCCS by the 8th Nov for a 1st Dec start. The last of the dd's comes out of the account on the 3rd and the last wage paid in there will be on the 5th. I will be taking the wage out that day. I dont think it will matter if you are a day or two out sending the creditors letters after you send the pack to the CCCS. I think, but I may be wrong that they wont contact the creditors until after your plan start date, I think they send the payments off towards the end of the month so if its a Dec start they will write to creditors in December with the 1st payment. Someone else will be able to tell you if thats the case. LBM 23-10-2009 - Total unsecured debt £39,638.65 _pale_

Hi Jayneben
I think I may have missed you, I sent all my paperwork off yesterday, notification of DMP letters to creditors and contract/statements etc to CCCS.
What I did was Special Delivery to CCCS as it contained lots of sensitive info. Then I did recorded for everyone else so I have proof of posting so no one can say I didnt inform them of the DMP.
Good luck, here's to a 1st December start date!Total Debt : £61,302.84 :eek:DMP with CCCS started 1.01.2010Debt Free in 13 Years 1 month, hopefully sooner as things improve and they stop interest/charges!!Long Hauler #188 DMP Member 353Thank you so much to all posters :beer:0
