    Take care all

    Hi

I have been on a dmp with cccS for 18 months and I have never had a nasty letter or phonecall from any of my creditors. I regularly speak to my creditors to make sure they are receiving payment on time etc. So all in all everything is all good and all my interest was frozen from day one.

    Hope this helps

    Hi All,
Just thought I'd pop by and say hello as I haven't had chance to get on here much these past few weeks.

So, I'm almost through my first month of being on a DMP with payplan. I can see from online balances that my creditors have accepted the payment from payplan but I've heard NOTHING from any one of them, nada.. nothing!! I was all set up for the letters and endless calls but I haven't heard a single thing
Is this normal or am I speaking too soon?
I did have a default letter from my tesco cc to say they were charging me a late payment fee of £12 but that's honestly all I've heard!

Has anyone else experienced this? x

Into my first month too but with CCCS. Had understanding letters from 2 of 3 creditors but NOT A PEEP from 3rd (the one with the largest amount.) Have written to all to keep them informed but like you no phone calls (BIG sigh of relief!) Very thankful now I'm neurotic about giving my ex-directory number to anybody other than family/friends.
Let's hope they leave us in peace to get on with the business of repaying in shortest possible time!

P.S. to Toffee Penny - Well done !!!

OH had his payplan interview today and all went well. :j Such a weight off getting the first hurdle out of the way. We are paying £109 on our dmp and will be debt-free in 14 years. Sounds a bit long-term, but must remind myself that 14 years could easily go by with us building up ewven more debt or being in exactly the same position making minimum repayments - so it's all a move in the right direction.

Now just waiting to see if we are among the lucky ones with no strife from creditors.

Thanks to all on this fortum for sharing their stories - it really helps newbies like me.

By the way, I was wondering what payplan would allow for groceries - I put down £270 for 2 adults and one child. They allotted us £400! Very generous I thought!

  • Hi Everyone

Dell / Cit Finance Uk are one of my creditors who will not aknowladge my DMP, In fact they will not even acknowladge any of my letters or anything sent via CCCS. They continue to contact me at my previous address even though I have now contacted them Six times via recorded delivery, asking them to update their systems with my new details.

CCCS send them a payment every month but they continue to send letters weekly to my previous address saying that they cannot contact me and may start other collection procedures shortly, this does not bother me, as I can then negotiate with the collection agency.

What does bother me is that they will give the collection agency my old address and my redirect is about to end.

I refuse to telephone this company as I need a paper trail and prefer everything in writing.

Does anyone have an email address for CIT UK or Dell Customer Services ?

I wouldn't mind but this is one of my smallest debts.

  • I've got a question. Having surrendered a life assurance policy to which we've been paying over the odds for twelve years and switched to a cheaper provider (god bless your advice, Mr Lewis  ), we're due a couple of thousand quid. Now, as we've got no access to credit any more, and we have some major, unavoidable expenditure on the horizon, is it OK within the terms of a DMP to hang on to it?

After the major expense we'd have about £500 left, which we want to keep for a rainy day - again, is there a ceiling on savings you can legit have under a DMP, or is it best just to keep a bit shtum?
