Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Saturday 6th June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning OS chums!
FairyE - hope the scan went well yesterday *hugs*
hilstep - oh how lovely to have strawberries, I don't even have flowers yet!
Taplady - what a lovely surprise - what will you spend it on?
Noahs - Well I am glad I was right so didn't sound silly, but am sorry you have been feeling so poorly and hope the increase in meds helps. By the way - Sybil is only posting on her blog now, she felt she wasn't OS enough and that she shouldn't be posting about LB here. Some of us tried to persuade her otherwise but she is sticking to her blog for now.
haribo - hope the cough clears up
Marie - enjoy your well deserved relaxing Saturday
Tiredmum - sorry you didn't get the job, but I am sure there is something better for you out there.
Anniestar - it's fabulous to see you again! We missed you.
Well the bad news is that our hard drive was corrupted apparently so when the nerds put on the new power pack and tried to boot it up it wouldn't. They are anticipating that we have lost about 80% if not more of what was on the hard drive. I have to admit I cried when I heard this. The last back up we did was well over six months ago and I have a lot of written work I would have been paid for on there and now I may have lost it all. A salutory lesson to anyone who hasn't backed up recently. Plus all those other things you put on the puter and don't remember til afterwards that they are lost now.
Not sure why I am up this early when I haven't heard from Tris, but it's nice and peaceful and not too hot so as I was up getting a drink I thought I might as well stay up, just in case he logs on.
Btw, if anyone missed out on getting a free sample of Olay wrinkle filler, HERE is the link.
OS wise I have a fish pie to make; some tomato plants to put into a grow bag, some chilli plants to pot on, a big pile of paper work to sort through and I should get my home insurance sorted out. Weather forecast said an end to two weeks of solid sunshine but hoping as long as it isn't raining to get out into the garden.
So - I hope the weekend starts gently for you all. Warm gentle
for anyone who wants or needs one.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.

Morning MSD & everyone else.
Sorry to hear about your PC MSD, I used to have nightmares about not backing up especially as the business stuff is on the laptop too. Now use a online backup service (the same one Barclays bank use) & I dont have to think about it. Does cost though but worth it for my peace of mind.
Tired-mum sorry you didnt get the job
Well am off to Covent Garden in a min, am actually having my hair done up there, recently got a few pounds left to me from my Nan and whilst the tax man will get most of it I am treating myself having my hair straightened. Am driving up there on my own  and am looking forward to a day with no kids. Hope to get time to have a look in Kath Kidston and will definately be treating myself to a starbucks (or 2).
So no OS for me today but OH will be doing it in my place, he is also cooking dinner so will either be shepherds pie or spag bol.
Weather is overcast but dry at the moment, looking at the weather forcast though the lawn & veggies will benefit from the next few days.
Well, better get my skates on, have a great Saturday.

Morning Diva & everyone else
Wet & drizzly here today but it will do the garden good.
No plans & no idea what I'm doing today, OS or otherwise. I'm not finding much time to get on here lately, but I'm still busy with the garden & crochet.
Have a good day everyone
Hugs Hester

Just going to jump into the shower now and then its breakfast of porridge and fruit.Hope everyone has a great week-end although the weather isn't looking too bright at the moment

Morning all
Well the weather has well and truly changed here, it has been throwing it down very heavily all night and the garden is sodden!
Today we are continuing with the great wedding dress hunt. My DD1 has seen one on the internet that she really likes in a shop about 30 miles away and although I have looked for a different stockist nearer it would appear that there is not one. Seems a long way to go but the dress is over £1000 cheaper than the last one she looked at and liked so fingers crossed! So we are having a trip out this morning.
I am really looking forward to it to as it is a nice market town so after the wedding dress shop we will be able to have a look round the lovely market and I know there are some lovely cheese stalls there from farm shops!
When we get back need to have bm on and also need to feed tomato plants (keep forgetting!:o)
Diva do you have a link to WS blog please?
PEN-pen I am intrigued - which is the Northern town of many charity shops, sounds like they are good ones!! Would love to pay a visit!
Hope you all have a good saturday - off to read yest thread before we set off!
