Hiya hope someone can help me.
I am trying to set up MSN messenger 7.5 on my daughters pc and my laptop. I have opened a hotmail account and appear to have downloaded the Messenger correctly but everytime we try and sign on it comes up cant sign on saying that it maybe the firewall settings.
I have checked the firewall and it should allow MSN Messenger, myself personally am not bothered but all my daughters friends from school are on it every night so she is feeling really left out.
Any suggestions (in v basic english - am not techy at all) would be much appreciated.

uninstall version 7.5 by using Add/Remove Programs under the control panel and install version 7 from here
http://www.oldapps.com/msn_messenger.htm
it's at the bottom of the page
http://www.oldapps.com/Old%20Apps/msn/msn%20messenger%207.0.exe
the only extra 7.5 has is audio clips
loads of people have this problem with the new version see this old thread

Many Thanks Browntoa
Have downloaded it - when tried to sign on it advised that the service is busy - perhaps this is normal?
Dont know if I am going mad but was going press your thanks button and is has disappeared!!0 -
Most likely a firewall issue
If you want ot test then turn off you firewall for a sec then try to connect to msn and if it works then the firewall is the problemif it doesn't work then there is some other problem somewhere
Some firewalls have made the effort to make the firewall rules foryou others well... they couldn't care lessDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
