My grandad was a keen gardener, he loved flowers.

Im gonna go with the flow like you all suggested, and just do as they ask.

It's the best way. And just remember your lovely Grandad in your own way, it doesn't matter what others want to do, you have your own memories and feelings and no-one can take that away. Can you perhaps plant some flowers in your back garden or something maybe, a tribute of your own or something?

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

Sorry about your loss - its a difficult time and its best to go with the flow. When my MIL died there was one funeral car with her 4 children, father and brother & SIL and they forgot about me ( I was the only child with a spouse) my parents took me to the church as my dad was taking the funeral, I got a lift to the Crem with a cousin and then everyone left to go back home and left me stranded !!! Easier alround if you drive.

As to flowers - how about doing as Janepig suggests and planting a special plant for your grandad. We have aramblinr rector rose as a special plant to remebr my dad by

You sound like a lovely person and sometimes, as everyone has said it is just easier to remember your Grandad in your own way long after all this sort of thing becomes so unimportant -- but often seems SO important to some people at the time Good Luck
Try and do a good deed every day.

That's great, that is what I would do. I must admit I would be a bit annoyed at not having my husband by my side (but I would understand and just go with it) but it will be a short distance and your wife will be waiting for you.

It is not worth getting upset at things like this at times like this. I am sure your Mother and her siblings have their reasons, they sound quite logical to me but I can again understand why they might not sound like that to you at this time.

They just want siblings together and grandchildren together, all immediate family. If you had a hummer things would be a bit different but for funerals that would not be practical.

Again, I wish you all the best and hope the day goes as well as you could hope for.
