  • i guess these all now need to be posted on main each time given all new end dates now mean a new thread for everything. as tab dont prevent you from duping if any of those here end up also being posted on main would it be possible to add a note saying they are here? it wont be an issue with puzzler since they dont let you enter a second time.

    thanks :)

hiya, these have been posted in one thread since the beginning of the comps forum, i think aggie should be the one to get in touch with bg's or MSE andrea about it, i think the magazine comps differ from online/email comps as they have issue numbers we have to follow through, it would be difficult to follow through with the issue numbers if they were all posted separately,
my personal opinion is mag comps should be kept together as in puzzler & this one,
there's always an exception to the rules,
as they said in comps disc not all comps will fit into the categories,
but, will see what aggie says as she's the op who keeps the thread up :)
    xx

  • but all the other magazine comps also have issue numbers that have to be followed through on. if everyone agrees to these threads being exceptions then f/e but i cant see the difference between these and all the other magazine comps or all the other weekly comps which are renewed on a specific day/date too. i also dont see how posting them in one thread is much of an advantage over them all being posted separately, clicking the link to the correct page, and entering the answers checking the comp number beside them is every bit as doable if they are posted individually on main as it is if they are posted in a new reply in here.

personally i prefer the ongoing thread, i love to be able to come in here and catch up on entering 10 comps at once rather than having to weed them out amid all the other end dates, and when they end earlier than the expected end date in here i have most likely already entered, by end date on mian ill have missed out but thats just my tough luck for not keeping up with newly posted comps.

what we cant continue with is one rule for one comp/poster and another for another comp/poster. the new rules make it simple...everything goes on main with its respective end date, that applies to these too :( lots of people who cant keep track of threads like this will get to enter them too if theyre all posted individually, which has to be a good thing for those people?

tbh pcl, i can't make head or tail of any of the discussions or rulings just lately, the post from Andrea didn't realy say any different to me than what was said in the first place :o
when i first joined here i was told the tab & puzzler threads were to be kept together on one thread & that was from a BG,
:rotfl:when i used to post them separate they kept getting moved to the thread :rotfl:
if the ops post them separate then they're posted again on the thread they'll be all over the place  which was how they were way back, think that's why it was said to keep them all together as they're the same mag url just updated new isses,
up to the bg's, aggie other regular posters maybe to discuss them,

i did say i thought (in the comps disc) ages ago it might be a good idea to have all the other mag postings in one thread with the headings of the mags & who the reg ops were for posting so they could update every week/month/have a back up for when on hols or ill/keep the issues flowing on a reg basis etc, like the puzzler/tab monthly ones
but, think only a couple thought it was
a good idea so not sure :)

Andrea has posted that all comps should be posted 'as individual threads for each day/week/month noting in the title which day etc it is'

For each of these to be posted separately, they just need to be posted as a new thread set up as they are currently added to this thread :)

(but I have to agree with pcl etc I do like having them all in one thread)

Would just like to add that I much prefer the ongoing thread system as well :(

    As do I.

But if Andrea has made the decision based on PMs she's received then there must be a lot of angry people who disagree with us :(

EDITED TO SAY (BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO REPLY AND UPSET SUBSCRIBED COMPERS)
In reply to korkys post a few down...

Whatever happens I fully agree with the cost thing.....if/when we move to everything being posted as individual posts then any comps like these where people pay for the subscription for the benefit of us all HAVE TO BE on a list (stickied? or on the top of the postals sticky if that remains?) so they are still allocated to the people who spend the money.

oh no!!!!! I am so used to all the TAB being in one thread and it makes loads of sense keeping this as is, surely confusion will ensue if they start getting a seperate thread each and linked in here??? :)

Will there be anymore comps posted in this thread? If not, I can unsubscribe as I keep on visiting it today :rotfl:
