My local freesheet always advertises sales at slightly tired hotels 'at the orders of HMRC and the liquidators", claiming amazing bargains on 'genuine' carpets and object d'art. All utter tat just unloaded from a container from China I assume.
  • There's a paper copy of this advert in the FT today to. Could get a nice flat overlooking the building Lehman Brothers were in before thet went bust... assuming that the building where Bear Stearns were in before they went bust (Canary Wharf Tower) isn't in the way... :)

    "overlooking canary wharf"

Thats a tall building, you can probably see canary wharf in the distance from the top floor on a clear day.

I hear people are queuing up already!
Personally I feel they were an oversaturated price already.. Any idea of the next "fire sale" XD

An awful lot of new residential property has been built to the east and west of Canary Wharf. It was priced based on what City workers would pay to be near to the office. Now we have massive oversupply of office space in the City, so it's not clear why Canary Wharf (with its bad transport links) is such a good location for business.

I'm betting that we'll be seeing two bed flats in those areas sub 100k in a few years...

I passed there early yesterday morning (9.15am)...there were about 80 people milling around outside wating for the sales office to open (for the 1st day release).

Advertising works ...obviously, still plenty of gullible people around!

Eek - sorry, but like so many other Docklands developments, my bet is that these apartments are the slums of the future...
