Sir Alan hired in government role

Seriously has ever a sane person taken the Labour party seriously? They cannot run a country period only run it down, i am 45 and still remember the TV's being switched off at 10.30pm. The winter of discontent with bodies piling up, litter strewn streets. Harold Wilson i still believe was a Russian Commie spy, he should have been shot, and i went to the same secondary school has him. We need more people like Lord Mountbatten and others who were prepared to launch a military coup in this country to get rid of the Labour Commies. I wish they had. (Check your history) Labour cannot rule a country full stop. I hate them with a passion cause they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT RUIN COUNTRIES.
I am no conservative but when i was a young lad i did not dare commit a crime, Detention Centre and Borstal put me straight off a life of crime, i had a perfect upbringing for it. now i feel i would not be averse to do some type of crime as there is no deterrent whatsoever! I work my butt off but i am sick of getting ripped off by my own so called government.

Credit where credit is due though, Lord Beardy does have good left-wing credentials & represents the working man.
Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia:
"Sugar & his wife Ann ... celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in 2008 in a party at their home where Bruce Forsyth was the compere, Jackie Mason the comic and Sir Elton John played a set."0 -
Come on Graham, try to keep up! Mr Sugar has a load of properties in his name so of course he will say 'reinflate the economy' because he doesn't want any of his properties to be worth £2.50 in the future.
With him in office it'll be like the blind leading the blind. You think it's bad now? Just wait....
R
That's the problem – like the people in the 'government' at present, he has a vested interested in seeing property go up. The increases in the prices of property have been an absolute disaster for the economy of this country, not least because they encouraged huge levels of debt.
To me, this man epitomizes the greed and nasty 'me first' attitude of many people these days. The fact that Clown thinks he will boost labour's popularity says much about labour. It proves that labour actually has no willingness to change or to clean up politics. Yet again, they have put someone in the Lords who is completely unfit to be there – and have done nothing about bringing in laws to eject people from the peerage if they are unfit to be there. We are ending up with obvious crooks running the country.
There must be a general election as soon as possible – the thought of Clown and his incompetent sleaze merchants being in office for another year fills me with dread about just what else they will do to ruin the economy, the morality of this country, etc.0 -
Sugar interview with the sycophantic Andrew Marr - My appointment is not political
"Even though I've just given Gordon Brown my full backing :rotfl: "
This is just ridiculous and will fall apart. He's about to become a peer but not "a working peer". Isn't that what the Labour Party just abolished? The constitution will probably have to be changed to accommodate this one guy who is there as "window dressing" far more than Caroline Flint ever was.
It's worth listening to the interview. How someone who is straightforward outside politics immediately sounds dodgy and equivocates once he gets into politics (which he claims isn't happening :rotfl: ).0 -

I saw it on TV.
It did hit me how normally Sugar is so direct in answeing questions. Completely hard hitting, direct approach...which he is famous for.
He has always answered questions direct and said what he thinks, part of his success as being a ruthless businessman.
So it's a shame that today, he was just another labourite spinning questions.
I believe he has done this on vested interests. If he hasn't, all business should be winded up. You cannot be the enterprise advisor, when you are in enterprise yourself. That is the biggest conflict of interests there possibly is.
In in all honesty, this will probably ruin him. He has a knack for getting very rich very quick, but also has a nack for backing failiures, such as Woolworths, Amstrad and now, Labour.0 -
BBC - Sugar asked to choose
"...Shadow culture secretary Jeremy Hunt said: "Presenting a programme for the BBC and working for the government on the same issue is totally incompatible with the BBC's rules on political independence and impartiality.
Sir Alan Sugar needs to make a choice between his role in The Apprentice and his role as the government's business tsar....."0 -

Trust me, more often than not the richer someone is, the more they're out for whatever they can get. Often that's why they're rich of course!
Lol, although having just read the story 'Sugar 'must choose' between jobs' on the BBC website, it looks like the Tories are saying, "Sir Alan, you're fired!" - must be the worst apprentice ever as he's being sacked before even starting a task!0 -
Mmm...Will a spoonful of Sugar help the Labour Medicine go down?
GULP...No it still sticks in my throat!0 -

So he's already denying he has joined the government....BUT, he's labour's Enterprise Tsar.
Come ON. That has more spin than those stupid spinny top things from the 70's.
And here begins his downfall.
As for "so I hear"....wow, thats some businessman there. One minute he says he is, next minute he doesnt quite know. Such a shame to see vested interests of his property portfoilio taking over what we all know (and some loved) about Alan Sugar.
He will either be forced to end enterprise (and I think thats quite right if he's going to advise on it) or become labours shortest ever peer....orrrr, Labour will decide to forgo party and political rules to bolster them.
Of course the tories will be using this as political ammo....however, they are completely right. It's like having the boss of Golden Virginia becoming the governments smoking advisor.0
