    Ditto

They will either be using the Statute of Limitations Act or the Consumer Credit Act. You can do either yourself, as appropriate, for the cost of a registered letter, and a £1 postal order for the CCA.

There are template letters here, on the NDl web-site of the CAg web-site, and loads of free advice.

  • Hi all,

I'm a newbie to this site but wanted to know if anyone had any info regarding the clearing of all unsecured credit card debts due to a loophole regarding the credit consumer act 1974 and the legality of the contract. Apparently if you took out a card before April 2007 you may be eligable to clear off all your debts. the charge I have been quoted is £350 per card, which is not refunded, and they let you know in a few days whether you are suitable candidate.
I personally owe over £50k on several cards and cannot now meet the minimum payments due to my financial circumstances changing.
This does sound too good to be true and probably is, so I would like all your expert opinions.
    Many thanks.

If it sounds too good to be true...... I think you know what the rest of the saying is.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

You are right -it is too good to be true - don't touch it with a barge pole.

    HI Steve

I deffinitely wouldnt touch as the others have said.

I would maybe post up your SOA (statement of affairs) and let us see if we can help you.

    http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html

I would also contact CCCS or National Debtline (free charities that can help you with your debt). www.cccs.co.uk or www.nationaldebtline.co.uk

There are no "quick fixes" for debt. And if it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Think about this... REALLY think about it... :)

You want to PAY someone to tell you whether or not you might be able to have your debts annulled...
So... ever heard of timeshare salesmen?

Yes you can have a large chunk of debt written off... it's called bankruptcy!!!
Contact one of the free charities in my signature and get the problem sorted PROPERLY!

however if you really believe those people... I happen to have a Golden Gate Bridge for sale... slightly used, make a great present for a person with plenty of space and a large river! To you I'll do a special deal! £10000! Just cos I like you!

You did well, mrs T - I paid twice that for 'my' Golden Gate Bridge.

I suppose that we are going to have to get used to more 'ambulance chasers' trying to make a killing out of the misfortune of debtors.

Perhaps this is the inevitable consequence of the reduction in the number of debtors seeking IVAs in the last six months?

Whilst I am, in all honesty, trying to convince myself that the OP's question is genuine, I can't help, and I hope steve will forgive me if I am wrong, feeling that his post is highly flavoured with :spam:

I do hope I am wrong.
