  • Hi
I have searched the web and have come across a company that will check my agreements for free, Contract Checker, obviously if the contracts are unenforceable then I could use their services, for a fee, to sort it. I have read many posts on this subject and it seems difficult to get an easy resolution. I am sending letters requesting copies of agreements and was lookig for impartial advice.

    Hello

No need to pay anyone any fees to do this. Everything they can do you can do yourself with help from some of the knowledgable people on here. Once you have copy agreements you can either scan them and post on here (blanking out the confidential info of course). Or read up on here about all the terms and info a pre April 2007 must contain - then compare to what you have been sent.

Instead, if you need to query any aspect of any of your credit agreements, post your query here and we will try and help you for free.

  • Thanks guys,
I am already preparing the letters from threads I have read on the forum
  • Hi, I have today been contacted by a company called McGregor Moore, not sure exactly where they are from tho. They called me about my outstandiing loans and credit cards. They tell me that if my loans or credit cards were taken out before 2007 and have a balance of more than £1,000 on them at present I may be in a postion to have them written off. Apparently, before 2007 the Agreements were wrongly worded and therefore not valid! They have arranged to call me back on Monday 28th April about 4.00pm to discuss this further. I would be very grateful if you could possibly check this out and let me know if this is a scam. At present all they have is my name and address and the names of my loancredit card companies. As they say if something seems to good to be true it usually is.

Hi Lindie - yep too good to be true. Someone has moved your question to this thread as this question gets asked oftern. Read through the advice previously given on this thread. No need to pay a company to do this. If you want to check the validity of your credit agreements you can do it yourself (with advice and guidance from here).

It is definitely misleading to say that all credit card agreements written before 2007 are invalid. They have absolutely no guarantee that this is the case and are wrong to infer otherwise. What they are advocating is debt avoidance for a profit (theirs).
Please do not fall for their sales talk.

The experts will be along in a minuteto advise you, but does it sound too good to be true? If so, it probably is.
