the ironing philosophy in this house is.... "does it really need ironing? Really? Are you sure you'd rather not wear something else? Good........"

not big on ironing in this house.... there is no mountain. but it's not cause i do it, it's cause i decided it doesn't need it! no domestic goddess me!

*wonders how much it would cost to post Mt Ellis to Scotland so Lensip could prove he has a domestic bone in his body*

Morning all - I have a dilemma this morning - opinions welcome.

It is a friends wedding today - they are only looking for money as they are saving up for a car. So I have put £50 in their card.

The dilemma is the actual day - I have already spent £20 on a new pair of trousers for OH suit (his old ones were a bit tight) and I have bought a few pieces of ebay so I can choose something to wear ( I have a choice of a couple of dresses and a couple of tops to go with a black skirt I own - none are perfect but at a size 22 and on a budget they are better than nothing). I think the max I have spent on ebay is around £25.

If I take the car, I cannot drink. If I take public transport I am stuck with 2 train tickets @ £5 each, a taxi fare from the church to the reception £5 and then a £25 taxi fare home.

I am sitting here ready to burst into tears thinking how much money this is all costing - if I pay all of this then we will be struggling for the rest of the month but we could do it. I think it is just the thought of spending so much on just one day. By the time we have paid for drinks etc the whole day could be £200 - that is just such a lot of money!!!

On the bright side I am intending to sell the bits I bought on ebay back there once I have done with them so I will recoup some cost there.

I guess I am just trying to get this off my chest now - the way I feel right now I could just not go at all but this is my best friend from school.

Had the most amazing suprise last night for my birthday. My (very new!) boyfriend secretly organised for him and my best mate to come round with presents, wine and cake as a suprise!! I had no idea they were planning it so they just turned up unannounced when I was feeling meh and miserable because I'd had an uneventful birthday and was going to watch BB! lol!!! Was soooooo touched and I nearly cried! We've only been going out a week and he went so out of his way to do it all for me!!
could it be that I've actually found a DECENT man?? I didn't think they existed!! lol!!
Plus one of my presents from him was guitar hero metallica so we had a fab night rocking out too :D

    Hi Buddingblonde,

i'm sure at the church you'll find someone will be willing to give you a ride to the reception, as you'll all be going there anyway, and as Bunny said, put less in the card.
