    Afternoon all,

Hugs to all who are not feeling well, look after yourselves.

    Taplady....congratulations on your good fortune.

NPM...glad to hear about spag bol....

Enjoy the weekend those of you who are going away.

Have been to vote for council and European elections this morning, allegedly our main government party is going to lose most council seats and get no European seats...will be interesting to see what happens!

Not sure yet what's for dinner, maybe some plaice with mash and peas....I am soooo lazy these days...something with rhubarb for pudding.

Have stripped one spare room of all washables and first lot is now in machine, second due to go in when they finish, will take my chances on drying them outside, we are to have rain later, but every little bit of fresh air helps...

Nothing planned for weekend, which is great as we have had something on last 3 Saturdays, hope that nothing turns up....going to be a quick tidy up everywhere and then sit and enjoy my garden, or clean living room if it rains.

    Have a nice weekend all

well back from meadowhall, managed to get DH and step dad fathers day presents , as for BIL 60th I looked but had no idea then I bumped into his son and he said he is saving for some sort of specialist camera and they are all giving him money so I will do the same- sorted :D

had to pick DD1 up from school, she has hurt her back. she is on the sofa with a hot water bottle and painkillers - bless. I asked her how she did it- she did it eating a biscuit! she bit into a biscuit and that was it I am assuming its muscular, I hope so anyway
  • Cherry bakewell biscuits

    115g butter
    40g icing sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1tsp almond extract
    140g plain flour
    glace cherries

Beat together the butter and sugar until buttercream then beat in the yolk and extract. Add flour and cherries until ingredients are well combined.

Flatten dough into a disk and then chill in the fridge for 30 mins.

Remove dough from fridge and roll into a log about 3cm diameter and chill for 2 hrs minimum ( I usually chill overnight)

Preheat oven to 180oc, cut log into about 1cm width. Bake for 12 - 14 mins.

I have posted this on request. I found this on a blog somewhere so the recipie isn't mine.

    Enjoy

Sorry to hear you didn't get the job Tired Mum. Chin up chick x

My new parent came to see me this evening and she was lovely. I sent her away to have a think about whether she wants me to provide childcare (others have rushed into it and then let me down). She seemed positive and said she liked what she saw in my house
I feel exhausted though. Did a fair bit of cleaning this morning, tried to keep on top of the endless toys my DS and DD seem to spread all over the house, visit friends, come home and feed and wash up before she came round.
Anyone got a spare glass of wine???!!
