Am I illegal??

I've had a stocks& shares ISA with L&G for several years which I put £100 pcm into & forget it.

This year, for the first time in living memory I have some spare cash. :D So, I've put an additional £2800 into the L&G ISA to fill it up to 4K.

I've also opened an A&L mini cash ISA & put 3K in, to make a total of 7K.

Is this permitted?? I thought it was OK then read something which made me think it wasn't, so I rang L&G this morning the the customer service guy said I was OK.

Trouble is, he sounded about 12.... can anyone here confirm either way so I can fix it if needed before the year end.

Thanks,

Feej

Provided your stocks & shares ISA is a Mini ISA then that's OK.

    Your choices are

Mini S&S ISA - max contribution from you £4,000 PLUS
Mini Cash ISA - max contribution from you £3,00

    OR
Maxi ISA - max contribution from you £7,000. This can be £7,000 all in stocks & shares or you can put up to £3,000 in cash and the rest in S&S

So ... if your L&G ISA is a Mini, you're OK

Thanks DFC - I'm assuming its a mini as the limit on investment is 4K, but I'll check. Part of the problem is losing/mislaying the paperwork at some point (I'm not usually given to ditching important stuff but s~~~ happens).

    Thanx again,
