Tell them to go whistle, if YOU'RE happy with the way things are, they can take a hike. If you do speak to them, tell them to drop it or you're new review will mean you end up paying them less :-\0

Thanks
They have just tried to ring me 30 mins ago. I am at work so i dont want everyone knowing my business have my phone on silent. If they want to contact me they can do so by letter.0 -
Is this harrassement in the last hour i have had 4 missed call from the 08708503492 number i am hoping mad  Total of 8 calls today and 5 on Saturday at least they are kind enough to give me a day of rest....0

You can write to them and tell them to remove your mobile number and only write to you at home. There's a thread on here recently about this, probably worth searching for it. Good luck!0

The halifax are now ringing me and withholding the number they rung me 8 times yesterday last one being 19.15. I am waiting for CCCS to come back to me regarding reveiw. I have been with them since June 2004 and am still paying the same amount to each creditor, should the CCCS reveiw my situation as i can afford to pay extra or should i just make a manual payment each month?0

IMHO, if you've already decided you are going to increase payments, then work out what Halifax will be getting extra each month (on the pro rata basis), call them and tell them that you are waiting for confirmation from CCCS for when the increase will start, and what the increase is likely to be. Also tell them that they can expect a new SOA from CCCS (which they should do when they have time in their busy schedule!).
If you have made contact with them they should stop calling so often - it could also be that they have you on auto-dialler. The call centre muppet may tell you that he cannot take you off this but that is rubbish.
Tell him that if they continue to call you with such frequency, even through an automated system, once you have informed them of the latest, that each and every call centre rep when they call is implicating him/herself under the Administration of Justice Act 1970 - look it up and find the part in Section 40 that refers to people 'working in concert'. This basically means that even though they are acting on behalf of the company, they are still liable for criminal prosecution as individuals. It's amazing how quickly they take you off the auto-ringer, especially when they check the case notes on their screen and see that you have recently updated them.
The most important thing is to TALK TO THEM so that you have on record that you have responded to their attempts to contact you. Once you have done that, you can start quoting the law, and you can refer them to CCCS.Budget: a mathematical confirmation of your suspicions. A.A. Latimer

Hi,
I don't understand. I too am being plagued with 'hang-up' recordings on my answerphone from the number 08708503492. I did contact the CCCS in January and I do have a mortgage with Halifax. However, I am paying my mortgage in full. I had assumed that this number was to do with the Bank of Scotland as it is my Mastercard that I am struggling to pay.0 -

Hi Reformed spender,
Halifax and Bank of Scotland are the same company (HBOS) - they merged about 2001.

Yep, 08708503492 is Bank of Scotland too. If you ring them back it just says "One of our representatives tried to contact you. We will try again later"
I also get "hang ups" from 4 out of 5 calls that I actually answer, and have complained about this on numerous occasions to them when they do eventually deign to speak to me, so they do know what is happening.
I'm still getting at least daily calls from 08708503492 even though my IVA was approved over 2 weeks ago. They say they have no record of it! So I've had to ask my IBA supervisor to contact them.0 -
Hi- not sure if you already know - but a lot of collections areas use 'power diallers' basically a computer that calls out to say 100 people, but there will only be maybe 20 operators that can handle the calls that are answered. So if you get one of the dialler lines without a person, if they hear an answerphone beep, they automatically disconnect. It can also explain why you seem to get 'hang up' calls. A lot of marketing companies use them as well.
Hope this makes sense?!0
