Home phones.

My house has been bombarded with cold callers recently. Its got to the point where we are getting maybe 10 a day looking for different members of my family. I've had 3 people calling in the last half hour! Anyway I'm looking for a cheap phone that shows called id. I'd be interested to see more epensive options too just for a gander.

So what do you recommend people?

Nah dont apoligise to me mate.Youve given me a starting point. Its got some interesting features but the ringtone feature is more of a gimmick than anything i need. I think BT phones are a bit epensive TBH.

Get yourself onto the Telephone Preferential Service, if they keep calling you they could get fined, but it takes 30 days to activate.

    Google it :)

The problem I get is foreign calls, which nobody can do anything to stop.

We got a panasonic one the other day This one. Brilliant little thing. It's backlight comes on when it rings so you can read the name/number in the dark.

Panasonic make a huge amount of business telephones and systems, their stuff is usually worth trusting. Only niggle is that we bought the twin pack one which was on special at the time, had we gone for a slightly dearer one it synched the phone book entries between handsets so a number stored on one was beamed to the other handset as well, which would have been handy when starting out entering friend and family numbers.

If I picked up the phone and it was for someone else could I put the call through to the other handset?( that is if i bought dual handsets) That was the most annoying thing with previous phones ive had

Yeah, there is a "int" button which you press, then the number of the other handset, either 1 or 2, then the other handset rings and you can hang up.
