Amazon - Botched my TV order and didn't tell me.

Hi all
Need a vent about Amazon.
Started working about ten months ago and decided to save up for a nice shiny plasma screen. Had the money saved and was going to wait until I move into the girlfriend in about a month and a half. Housemate moves out and takes both his tvs with him and we have no tv so I bring the order forward to now.
Decided to buy from amazon as they're a trusted name and it was pretty much the same price. Ordered it on Sunday 24th, expecting a wednesday delivery (in time for the CL final) because of the bank holiday. Sure enough, come Weds the stand turns up but no sign of the tv. Waited another day and nothing. Tracker is simply saying despatched and city link state it has been picked up from the collection depot and is waiting to be despatched from the delivery dept.
On Saturday I was royally miffed so emailed amazon. Response was immediate saying they were going to investigate with city link and get back to me and that they had refunded me the delivery (too bloody right!). Told me to get back in touch if I hadn't heard anything within 48hrs.
Heard nothing so emailed again twice, no response. Rang them up and was told that there had been an error processing the order but that it had been sorted and would be sent out ASAP to be received within 48hrs.
That brings us to today, and guess what. Still got no telly. Ring them up again and I'm told that citylink never received the package (presumably twice? Who know's?). Offered a replacement or a refund. Red mist comes down and I take the refund.
Feeling a little stupid now as it means I'm gonna have to wait even longer from a telly if I order it from someone else but I was just royally naffed off with their incompetence. I'm usually quite good with cockups as long as I'm kept informed and it gets rectified but I was told the same thing three times and nobody sorted it so I'd had enough.
Also got given a £5 gift voucher for my incovenience (had to flaming ask for that too!). Less than 1% of my order value, bloody cheek.
Anyway, anybody know where I can get a panasonic tx42x10b for less than £600, delivered tomorrow or Saturday
.

More than your target price but factor in the 5-year warranty and it's good value.
If you're near a JL store with one in stock, then yes, tomorrow or Saturday is perfick.
Sadly though, if you're not. . .0 -
when OH bought our big flat screen he did a lot of research and we bought through http://www.beyondtelevision.co.uk/
they were very good and the tv arrived very quickly. not sure if it'll be there on next day, but worth having a look
best of luck!

Feel like a spammy spammer now, but we also bought our Bravia from them.
Basically, did a big Google search, that was showing as cheaper by 30 quid or something and took a risk and bought it with our credit card which is what I'd recommend you do from whichever site you find the cheapest! Good luck!I love surprises!0 -

It's the one website that I didn't know anything of and I felt scary using it - hence paying by credit card. As long as you wont be desperate for cash if you lose the money for a couple of weeks it was worth the risk - saved about £100 quid from retailers I knew of (like Amazon)
Somewhere in my mind I keep thinking "surely everyone's not a scammer"? But having said that I breathed a sigh of relief when it turned up and worked!

I would have thought Kelkoo was a good first port of call for anything like this?0

Yeah that was the reason I went with amazon in the first place. Thanks for the recommendations guys, went with Dixons in the end. It's not gonna arrive until Wednesday but I've got revision to do this weekend anywway so not having a tv is probably a good thing. It was the same price as Amazon but found a 5% voucher which saved me £30 so it's all good. This is getting addictive!

Well if you did you would have seen RGB - who do negotiate
But well done on the voucher!:T0
