hmmm - baby monitors - that's a good idea. I think the garage might be too far away though as it's a rented garage. no power there, but a baby monitor would be good. just switch it on when I park up on a night time. would they be recievable on other frequencies? don't want any interceptors! lol
I wonder if there's anything else similar to that!!

They are a good way of knowing when someone is breaking in, I get my clients with vans to put them in the back to help protect their tools.
They cost about £30 or you could probably get one on ebay, gumtree or a car boot sale for about £5. They are normally rechargeable0 -
Don't forget, it's not just the cost of the wheels but tyres too.
If you feel the theft was opportunist then chances are you have had the bad luck and rather than go the down the route of getting cheap wheels to avoid being nicked it might be better to get replacements and protect them with a set of locking nuts.0 -
Cheers hundred - I know it;s also the tyres. I was running a very good setup with quality rubber. The theif was not an opportunist, they were stolen 'to order'. I've been targeted. They were very thorough with their approach, they had all the right tools for a quick and clean job. Car already had locking nuts on - this made no obstacle to them obviously.
I just want some cheap wheels to get it on the road, some rubber with plenty of tread until I'm sorted. If I go for decent stuff they'll just be back to finish up. Having said that if I could catch them in the act if they were to return - that would be interesting."The future needs a big kiss"0 -
If not going insurance route it might be worth a looking at local scrap yards to get you back on the road.0

Yeah. The thing with scrap yards is that most wheels and tyres have gone the distance (not always) but most. Many tyres are bald / below limit etc. There's a couple of guys selling old wheels for my variant that would fit - one is going to try a set of old wheels he has on the same car. Forum members from a club, so it's a little more trust worthy (I hope lol), and I reckon the condition will be better. it's still not for definite at the moment.
Time is also an issue, at the moment I just physically can't get the time to get around local places such as scrap yards to have a search around. I'm putting in crazy hours with work as we have a VERY important week starting on Monday. I'm not throwing up problems to your solutions matey, and I am grateful for all the help.
